Garden Festival Croatia 2010 London Launch Party

  • With the New Year festivities fast fading, attention has now switched fully to 2010. The new decade heralds some tantalising news just in from Petrcane, Croatia, as the guys behind the beatific Garden Festival have just announced their first full European tour, taking in some of the continent’s most vibrant venues and with some of the stars set to grace the two-weekend festival this summer. It all kicks off on Sat 6th Feb in London at The Star of Bethnal Green, featuring an array of fine talent including Yam Who?, Dolan Bergin, Matty J and Ben Terry, Nick Shaw and Ed Cotton for a night of deep disco, dub and electronic treats. Then the tour takes in Ljubljana: Slovenia, Brighton: UK Zagreb: Croatia, Sofia: Bulgaria, Birmingham: UK, Nottingham: UK, Manchester: UK and Brighton: UK Sat March 13th. There are further announcements for a show in Ukraine too to arrive shortly. “We’re looking forward to coming back over to the UK,” explains Nick Colgan, one of the founders of The Garden Festival. “Just hope it gets a bit warmer over there! It’s great to be taking in some of these iconic cities as we spread the good word about the festival. We’ve got some great names lined up to play and have found some really cool venues to host us. I can’t wait for the summer to begin, but am also really looking forward to bringing the Garden Festival sounds to Europe.” Representing all that is great and good over at the festival, each of London’s guests bring something aurally diverse to the Garden Festival’s spectrum, and in the intimate confines of one of London’s best venues, this is a great way to dispense with the detox and also get familiar with one of the most inspiring, enchanting and fun-filled festivals on the planet. For those already thinking of their summer plans, one destination and event is particular is right up there. Set in a stunning 900-year old fishing village on the Dalmatian Coast, it is an area of truly natural beauty. Garden festival goers indulge in fine food and drink, travelling around the region and lazy sun-kissed days and hedonistic nights, all framed by the festival itself, which again takes place across the first and second weekends of July from 2nd-11th July. Nestled on a narrow peninsular jutting into the seductive Adriatic waters, the festival features a fully live outdoor stage and beach bar where waters lap around revellers’ feet, twice daily Argonaughty Boat Parties, club sessions in the retro-tastic Barbarellas Discotheque and attracts sun and fun seekers from all over Europe.
