Boxout Wednesdays, the weekly club residency of community radio station boxout.fm, turns three years old and celebrates with its 150th party this March.
Since its inception in 2017 at Summer House Café in the Indian capital of New Delhi, the night has hosted over 500 local and international artists, with a 1000+ hours of music streamed live from the club and later archived on boxout.fm.
The open-minded booking policy at Boxout Wednesdays is reflective of the ethos of the station and has resulted in wide-ranging, genre-agnostic programming, from Jamaican dub legends and British bass music superstars to up-and- coming Indian beat makers and rising local DJs and live acts.
Over the years, Boxout Wednesdays has played a crucial part in shaping the alternative music culture of New Delhi by introducing people to cutting-edge sounds from around the country and globe and providing a mid-week meeting space for those who inhabit the outer fringes of the music and arts.
The third birthday celebration marks 150 editions of Boxout Wednesdays with a double billing that features heavyweight UK grime artist KILLA P alongside powerhouse club DJ Manara, known for mind-melting sets that bring together global club cuts, grime, house and Bollywood.
