Adventures in the Balearic Car Park.....
Eastern Front Soundsystem are very excited to welcome 2 Bad Mice down for a first visit to the Balearic Car Park.
Sean O’Keeffe is a proper dance music pioneer and one third of 2 Bad Mice, who released a string of seminal hardcore/breakbeat records on moving shadow records in the early to mid-1990s. They were instrumental in the music's steady mutation into jungle/drum and bass. Sean has continued to release music under a number of aliases (Deep Blue - The Helicopter Tune!) and his sound is typically associated with big heavy breaks and plenty of bass...
The last time we saw Sean was September in Ibiza, playing a completely different set of excellent records, poolside at Pikes on Sunday. After having a thoroughly nice time we headed back to Pikes again the following night for DJ Harvey’s Mercury Rising closing party..... where we bumped into Sean again and mentioned the idea of doing something back in London, so here we are....
Saturday the 25th will see Sean digging into his record collection to play a rarely heard alternative / eclectic set.
Local Walthamstow selector Adrian Spurdon also joins us. Ade has shared the bill with Nancy Noise, Leo Mas and Apiento at his Musica Noche night and we’re very pleased to have him back with us. Always playing great records in the right order, in seemingly effortless fashion!
So, looking forwards and feeling optimistic we’ll be shifting to summer hours and starting at 4pm with other friends and guests to be announced soon...
