- What has become of techno? Why is a tasteless subgenre getting into mainstream and gaining so much attention again? What on earth is happening?!?! We see a global trend where techno progresses into mainstream acceptance, ravers are seeking an alternative sound to express themselves to and refresh their perspective of electronic music. This is why we are bringing the meme lords WIXAPOL S.A. over from Poland for an international tour across Australia. For this special tour set to stretch from Perth to Melbourne to Sydney, we will be collaborating with an Estonian choreographer who worked with the likes of TOMMY CASH to produce a show with local Hakken Dancers sporting designer threads from Perth-based label Garbage TV. Think Gabber. Think throbbing Rave Renaissance POWER. Think tracksuits and interactive video projections. Think of your soup boiling over while you are glued to your phone watching David Attenborough talk about the end of the world. Is this the end? Some may say so. We think this is a new beginning. If techno is the Ashes, then Gabber is the Phoenix. Wixapol S.A. swallowed Gabber, chewed it up and spat it out to create an innovative form of Hard Dance music that sits smash-bang in the post-internet era. They resurrected Gabber and single-handedly created one of the biggest movements happening in Poland right now.
