We'll be kicking off United We Stream Tbilisi, locally initiated by The Cultural and Creative Industries Union of Georgia. United We Stream is a non-profit streaming initiative started by Berlin clubs with the goal to raise funds for charity and to support music venues and individuals affected by Covid-19 related closures. Tbilisi clubs rated among the most exciting in the world will join other major music cities like Berlin, Paris and Manchester as part of the United We Stream network for a nine-hour live broadcast starting on May 27th at 15:00 CEST on ARTE Concert.
DJs and Musicians representing CAFE-GALLERY, მტკვარზე • MTKVARZE, KHIDI and BASSIANI will play live from the Centre for Cosmic Constructions, a decommissioned Soviet-era space research institute where the celebrated 4GB festival is usually held each year, raising funds to support the creative industries.
May 27, the day of the first United We Stream transmission from Georgia, is the second anniversary of the clubs reopening after that crackdown - and it’s a day when Tbilisi desperately needs to see that international solidarity in action again.
From This month a live program will be broadcasted from Tbilisi based clubs, record shops and other music venues with DJ sets, live performances, talks and stories. This should continue until our beloved spaces can reopen.
