After nine years spent in Pula, the electronic music festival Slurp! will be held this summer for the first time on Martinska near Šibenik, which in its second season brings together as many as six music festivals. July 31 and August 1, over 20 musicians will arrive at this unique location in the heart of Dalmatia.
This summer Slurp! Festival has invited several musical collectives, both domestic and foreign, to act as program selectors at their new location in Martinska, Šibenik, helping to put together a line-up that showcases the best of Croatian's underground electronic music scene. Part of the program was selected by the RatCat collective from Šibenik, a group of music lovers who have been working intensively on the development of the local scene for years. Their choice is the main act of the festival, the Italian duo Modular Project consisting of great DJs Alessandro Fumagalli and Alberto Iovine. This eclectic duo delivers a sound defined by powerful drums and synthesizers, heavily influenced by the New Wave and the 80s Italo disco. On the main stage, they will feature local house duo PEZNT, who have been cheering up dance floors all around the world from the US to Asia, one of the most interesting DJs of his generation Lawrence Klein, DJ Jock whose tracks are regularly released and played by Carl Cox. There are also Borut Cvajner and Disrupted Project, co-founders of the Vakum Records label, the experimental duo Outcome, the sophisticated DJ Life4Funk, and rising Dalmatian DJs Beepolar, Santiago Batacosta and Marco Basler.
Friday 31st July will see the Get Physical Stage Takeover, as the leading Berlin label, that has helped define the musical landscape for the last 2 decades, takes the reins. Get Physical have recognised the quality of the Croatian scene for some time and have been championing it via their "Croatia Gets Physical” releases, curated by Andrea Ljekaj. Following this new collaboration, Insolate, Jan Kinčl, Andrea Ljekaj and Antonio Jukić will perform on their stage. See you there!
Saturday's "stage takeover" is taken care of by local label Imogen Recordings, which represents sound based on house and disco. Numerous underground music legends such as Kai Alce, Robert Owens, Brand New Heavies, Don Carlos, Charles Webster, Fred Everything, Darshan Jesrani (Metro Area) and Ashley Beedle are releasing for this perhaps the most intriguing domestic label. Ilija Rudman, Antonio Zuza, Stipe "Jazzy" Širinić and Andrija Bakula will perform at the Imogen Recordings Stage Takeover.
Sergej Lugovic / Sergej Snooze, Chuby and Nick Jelly are in charge of the "after" hours.
