- Ok people, we’ve been off the radar for a little while over Christmas and the New Year. We hope you have had a good break and are ready to join us for the next in our series of Parties. For this Event, we are bringing the ‘Basement Vibes’ to a much smaller and intimate location in Shoreditch... Public Life. There are not many venues in London that can offer the closeness and intimacy that this club does, where everyone is together in a small space and you can really connect with the DJ… This is the spot where it all started for us, where my self and Dan first met many moons ago and now it is time for us to give something back and to do a special little party here for our friends and family. Following on from our bash in December with Justin Drake, we continue in our quest to deliver the very best in Underground House and Techno. This event is no exception, and we have an all star line up of DJ’s ready to deliver the goods. First up, we have the excellent Cesar Merveille (Cadenza) in the house. For those who have not yet caught Cesar in action, this is a rare and exclusive opportunity to see a DJ like this rock the decks for 2 hours. I am sure everyone knows Cesar for his recent club smash ‘Tribute’ on Luciano’s imprint. Others may know him for the ‘Crapette’ ep and the magnificent ‘Choco-pop Jazz’. His big room House sets have been heard at ‘Cadenza’ nights all over the world, where he has featured alongside artists such as Reboot, Robert Dietz and of coarse the almighty Luciano. Cesar is making waves right now both as a DJ and a producer; and we cannot wait for him to deliver one of his sessions in groovy percussive House music. We take great pleasure also in welcoming Dan Farserelli (Metrik) down for his debut performance at Mode:Play. Due to circumstances Dan was unable to play at our Opening Party & we have been eager for him to come down and grace the decks ever since. Dan is the talk of the town at the moment, both for his peak time DJ sets along with his notorious ‘Metrik’ parties. His rolling tech house sound is much in tune with ours and can be heard all over London, from boat parties on the Thames to clubs and warehouse parties all over around London. Watch out for some of Dan’s future events, including the 8BIT Showcase where he will be spinning along side Gorge, Ray Okpara and Alex Niggeman. Another rising star on our list is our good friend Nice Guy Eddie (Loop). This vinyl junkie’s got some serious skills on the decks & has played at an impressive array of nights. From private beach parties in Ibiza to the all the hot spots around London, Eddie is establishing himself firmly as a serious DJ to watch out for. His new East London party ‘LOOP’ is making a real name for itself with previous events going off to the sounds of Anthea and Georgia Girl. Next up on the bill we have Tommy Evans (Serenade), an emerging artist and exciting DJ to watch. Tommy’s well known for his personality and his sets are always full of character. Tommy will be playing the finest selection of minimal tech along with those big Housey numbers that will with out fail get the party Jumping! We take great pleasure also in adding Samuel Bellisimo (LOOP) to the line up. Sam is definitely one to watch out for and he will be a solid fixture to our parties throughout 2010. Part of our focus at Mode:Play is breaking through new talent and showcasing real Underground DJ’s. Sam is a good example of the new breed of DJ’s emerging in London and we look forward to one of his trademark sets on the night. The Mode:Play Residents (myself and Dan Lively) will also be on rotation; pumping out those raw stripped back beats you all know us for... Dan is especially looking forward to dropping some of his new exciting productions; which are beginning to pick up a lot of attention in the industry. This is going to be a small intimate party and due to the limited capacity of Public Life, priority will be given to those on the Guest –list.
