After too many silent, lonely months spent drifting unmoored through cold, uncharted space... a transmission has come through: mission control has delivered new astronomical coordinates and it is finally - finally! - time to land. Two of DC’s slickest interstellar navigators step up to dial in a much-needed gravitational assist of psychedelic warp-drive techno to correct our orbits and bring us in for landing. So pull on your helmets, seal your spacesuits, and strap the heck in - because it’s once again time to enter the wormhole!
Astrobounce is a long-awaited launch point for post-pandemic partying. Kimskii and Furtive will take us into orbit as we dissolve once again into starry-eyed bliss. Let’s get our feet moving, our bodies grooving, and watch as new constellations form on the dancefloor.

Kimskii is a true pro-grade techno operator: a sharp and discerning selector whether playing off USB sticks or rinsing vinyl-only sets; a creative producer of sludgy and trippy psychedelic techno fare with releases on Monday Off, Gradient, Mysteries of the Deep and On Board music among others; a keen-eared label boss; and a long-time event producer. Kimskii has run the gauntlets, working in record shops and laying down sets in the toughest techno hotspots of NYC and Berlin, and then taking this wax-handling experience into launching L.A.G., Kimskii’s vinyl label. Kimskii spearheaded Sprüdel, a a sex-positive bi/queer/pan techno party series that brought vital energy to District warehouses. As a native of the broader DC area, Kimskii has a unique sense of the underground in the District, highlighting Kimskii’s latest crucial role: after returning to the DMV in recent years, Kimskii has acted as a generous mentor and role model to DC’s underground. Kimskii has spent much of the pandemic recalibrating, working in the studio, and organizing high-profile livestreams, including several online Sprüdel events, COMMON for Currents.fm, and Rave Luck Club, a joint venture with DC’s SEQUENCE. We’re thrilled to have an important figure of DC’s contemporary underground join us in kicking the District’s nightlife back off.
Furtive is a starry-eyed, polychromatic rave conjurer. As a relentless creative tinkerer and underground grand-stander, they have come up in DC’s scene as a prolific, multivariate producer and genre-agnostic DJ. Furtive’s tireless studio wizardry has allowed them to land releases on Warok Music, Northallsen Records, Format Recordings, and DC’s own ROOM and Metro Xpress, along with a slew of tracks on VA compilations and dozens of self-released cuts. Furtive has worked to foster underground nightlife as a steadfast co-organizer of DC’s precious, large-scale (and now-defunct) SEQUENCE party series. Beyond the dance floors and strobe lights, Furtive is a medium-mixing visual artist, squiggly illustrator, and a tattoo scratcher. They have spent the pandemic grinding in new directions and ceaselessly churning out new material, from a rich raft of eclectic DJ mixes (including for DC outfits, The Lot Radio, and a recurring show on Eaton Radio) and releases to ink-splattered artworks. While Furtive has been a reliable fixture of DC’s dancefloors for years, they are newly out as nonbinary and thoroughly energized by new insights, connections, and opportunities that have emerged during the pandemic, and are more ready than ever to deploy weapons-grade dancefloor magic and to build new, exciting things in DC and beyond.
