From the ashes of a global pandemic rises the party pheonix, SWOON. Every 4th Friday, join us at Bar Standard to revel in life with old friends and new for a unique clubbing experience. With the main floor being revamped and a special second room never used before, you will be exposed to innovative art and sound. Expect hands up stabs and music underrepresented in Denver as well as new immersive art experiences as the series grows.
ABOUT CHEZ:
Born in Chicago, though he has Detroit connections with Derrick May and Kevin Saunderson, Chez Damier's productions actually lean closer to the classic sound of New York garage. He began DJing and producing in the late '80s, mixing alongside Frankie Knuckles and May, and co-writing tracks for Inner City. A high-profile series of EPs for Balance during 1997 got him signed to the French label Distance that year, renewing Damier's name on the ever-growing garage scene. He set up fabled Detroit nightclub the Music Institute with Derrick May and Alton Miller, looked after the business affairs and studio output of Kevin Saunderson’s KMS label, and helped countless producers get a start in the game. On top of that, he has a storming discography of his own, and his work with Ron Trent encapsulates a golden era of house.
