The Amsterdam-based Jasper Wolff is not only the operator of the vinyl imprints Indigo Aera Labels and ÆX, which are distributed via rush hour, but has also been one of the DP / Producer nightlife icons in the Dutch capital for years. He is also a long-time friend of the Golzheim family and is not only without a reason one of the most popular guest DJs there.
Wolff found his entry into the techno subject primarily through his initial interest in Detroit's “so called” techno-soul & techno-bass (otherwise simply known as electro or hi-tech funk / jazz). And on the turntables, Wolff's DJ set has been going through all possible gaits of the techno theme since then, across all genres, from melodic plus versatile to hard or metallic, or 303-acidic colored. Anything goes, anything can! And it is, so to speak, given nature, just as strongly influenced by the relevant Amsterdam vinyl hubs for the best electronic sound culture Rush Hour Store and Delsin Records, where he released the still coveted Tesseract EP with long-term partner Maarten Mittendorff, among others. From his club nights in THE club legends of the canal metropolis, the now closed TROUW and DE SKOOL to the Paris CONCRETE, he has now developed a network of close connections far into the European club landscape.
In addition, his Indigo Aera label, founded in 2011, has now published over 25 catalog numbers. And so quickly advanced to one of the most respected, new vinyl institutions in the Dutch techno scene, which has other top-class figures to show for its Detroit sound heritage in the here-and-now with Antigone, Skudge, Jonas Kopp, Makam and Stephen Brown. In addition, the sub-label AEX, which places a considerable focus on Amsterdam talents, has also achieved release number 15. The main focus here is usually on intelligent hooklines as well as sophisticated sound constructions, which are also always characterized by intensity and dance ability. With a clear sidelong glance at the future, but also always deeply guided and shaped by one's own emotions. This is simply called Amsterdam's “Machine Soul” and there will definitely be plenty of it to be heard again on Saturday in Jasper Wolff's DJ sets.
