On the 29th March 2001 Empathy flung open its doors for the very first time, and every Thursday after that for 4 years saw some great nights with huge djs from all over the world playing for cheap in the 150 capacity Bar Latino just to fill in the time that they were in this part of the world along with great local djs mainly from Hope Recordings including Timo Maas, Nick Warren and Locoodice, it became one of the most talked about nights in the country. Making use of the courtyard for and late licence Empathy also played a big part in giving great opportunities for local djs, one in particular was to soon become a resident then international superstar Jim Rivers who is now signed to both Global Underground and Renaissance.
As soon as 'Latino was closed, we moved to Timbuk2 which saw the likes of Hybrid, Dave Seaman, Guy Gerber, Chloe Harris, Lee Burridge, Paolo Mojo and many more, then after 3years we moved to Blue Mountain with some huge names James Holden, Nick Warren, 16BitLolitas, Danny Howells, James Zabiela, Nic Fanciulli, Kriece...
Over the years Empathy has been constantly travelling all over Europe including Prague, Poland, Ibiza, London, Cardiff, Birmingham but has always held a strong part in pushing deep underground music.
So for our 9th Birthday we welcome one of the best djs in the UK to Timbuk2 for a very special party. One half of Lexicon and Little Green Men and Shindig resident Scott Bradford has been travelling all over the world touring for Renaissance and every other reputable promoter out there.
Also on this seriously hot line up we welcome back Steve Parry from Liverpool, Steve played in the first year of Empathy and its been way to long so we had no choice in getting him back.
Also in the main room, Empathy / Digital resident Stuart Wilkinson, plus Empathy and Habit residents, Jack2Front, from Birmingham.
In room2 we welcome Empathy sister night Digital away from its regular 3rd Saturday of each month at Dojo. Every month Digital pulls in the masses for heavyweight session of deephouse, tech and and minimal, we welcome various guests who have impressed from the past year.
Liverpool, and delivering not one but two mixes for Digweeds Transitions Global Transitions show, and with counties he's played at including Russia, Taiwan, Costa Rica, Norway,Finland, France, Greece, Denmark, France, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal and Mexico, Steve is riding the crest of the wave that is his own sucess.
