The City Arts and Music Project
Term 1 of this year's Red Bull Music Academy comes to an end, and as we all know the most powerful parties are the fare ye wells. Because, as the Chinese proverb goes, a thousand cups of wine do not suffice when true friends meet. The City Arts and Music Project, known as The CAMP, is one of a new generation of venues in Shoreditch bringing a new wave of contemporary sounds to the capitals renowned night time area. Previous pow-wows at the camp have included Ross Allen's The Meltdown, as well as party people like Secretsundaze and Disco Bloodbath bringing the crates, so you know the music policy of this place is water-tight. For this special night, disco standard-bearer Maurice Fulton will be bringing the intergalactic dancing vibes, making heads and mirrorballs spin in heliocentric circles, as well as boogie special ops veteran Morgan Geist of Metro Area and some of the Academy Allstars. But it takes more than just great music and a killer venue to put a night in the record books: even though we've drawn the line at flying in the spacecake witch and her gimp from Melbourne, or dropping Bob Marley's Get Up Stand Up at peak time. When the energy of the night comes from saying goodbye to a bunch of your favourite new-found friends, you know extra Kleenex is gonna have to be at hand. Hellos and goodbyes can be powerful enough on their own, but set them to music, and you know magic's in the air. See you on the flipside!
