‚Underground & Black‘ heißt der Blog von Ash Lauryn, eine aus Detroit stammende und in Atlanta lebende DJ, Produzentin und Autorin. Sich den schwarzen Wurzeln von House und Techno bewusst zu bleiben, dieses Wissen kreativ zu vermitteln und neue musikalische Triebe zu fördern, wo man sie erkennt, ist ihre Mission. Mit der ‚Truth EP‘ hat sie gerade ihr Debütsolorelease veröffentlicht, das mit beseelten, von ihren Vocals getragenen Deep-House-Nummern ein starkes Statement setzt: ‚Life Is Back‘, in der Tat. Eine feste Größe in Detroits gegenwärtiger Musikszene ist auch DJ Holographic, die in ihren Sets der reichen Geschichte ihrer Heimatstadt Tribut zollt und Dance-Genres aus verschiedenen Epochen wie Funk, Soul, Disco, House und Techno nahtlos ineinander mixt. Wie sich das Ganze anhört, kann man sehr gut auf der in diesem Frühjahr auf Planet E erschienen ‚Detroit Love‘-Mix-Compilation anhören, für die sie ausschließlich neues Material von Detroiter Künstler*innen zusammengestellt hat. Ash Lauryn und DJ Holographic legen heute mit solch illustren Kolleg*innen wie Eris Drew im back 2 back mit Octo Octa, Bambounou und Schacke zur Klubnacht auf.
Achtung: Leider muss das Set von Octo Octa kurzfristig aus persönlichen Gründen entfallen.

‘Underground & Black’ is the blog of Ash Lauryn, a Detroit-born, Atlanta-based DJ, producer and writer. To remain aware of the black roots of house and techno, to convey this knowledge creatively and to promote new musical sprouts where they can be identified is her mission. She has just released her debut solo release, the ‘Truth EP’, which makes a strong statement with its soulful deep house tracks guided by her vocals: ‘Life Is Back’, indeed. Also a fixture in Detroit's current music scene is DJ Holographic, whose sets pay tribute to her hometown's rich history, seamlessly blending dance genres from different eras such as funk, soul, disco, house and techno. You can hear what this sounds like on the ‘Detroit Love’ mix compilation released this spring on Planet E, for which she has compiled exclusively new material by Detroit artists. Ash Lauryn and DJ Holographic will be spinning tonight at Klubnacht with such illustrious colleagues as Eris Drew, Octo Octa, Bambounou and Schacke.
