  • Ambient Flo radio celebrates its 1st birthday this November with a new curator line up, party at Brilliant Corners and new limited edition printed 'zine chronologising the station's journey to date through interviews with its past curators. The 24 hour radio station founded by award-winning DJ and producer Auntie Flo has played host to a diverse range of artists exploring how human-curated music can be used for the purpose of good health, lowering stress and helping with focus. It also provides a fairer economic model for musicians who are part of its growing global community. ONE YEAR OF AMBIENT FLO Emerging out of the darkest moments of the COVID-19 lockdown, Ambient Flo recognises that the combination of music and nature sounds can be a key component of how we live through challenging times. In the face of a plethora of ‘chill out’ playlists created by algorithms, Ambient Flo calls on some of the greatest musicians, DJs and curators across the globe to compile selections of music that are centred around listener mental health, and is available for free 24 hours a day. Founded by Brian d’Souza aka Auntie Flo and assisted by a global network of DJs/curators and a burgeoning community of artists, year one featured curators such as KMRU, Gigi Masin, James Holden, Nicola Cruz, Azu Tiwaline and Patricia Wolf. We are delighted to announce our first quarter schedule for year two will include Richard Norris this November followed by Eris Drew, Orpheu The Wizard into 2022.. To celebrate the first birthday, Ambient Flo will be hosting an all-day Sunday party at Brilliant Corners in Dalston, London on Sunday 21st November. Sarathy Korwar and Auntie Flo will play a live tabla and raga drone set, Rachael Happy Habits will deliver a free gong mediation session (3-4pm), and Jay Carder will DJ in the evening. Food & dining available from 6pm. Ambient Flo will also be releasing a limited edition printed ‘zine featuring interviews with year one curators and articles on music and mental health. The ‘zine will be available to all Ambient Flo Patreon supporters, which is available for £3 per month. All money generated by the station is from our community and goes directly into their Artist Profit Share model, helping generate additional revenue for artists and producers featured on the station. www.ambientflo.com
