The Right To Dance x We Out Here: Yemen Emergency Fundraiser

  • RA PICK
  • Dance to a bunch of incredible artists and support one of the most devastating (and forgotten) crises in modern times.
  • Must provide negative lateral flow for entry Following the Afghanistan Emergency Fundraiser in October, which raised £21k in partnership with Resident Advisor, R3 Soundsystem and The Cause, we turn our attention to the most devastating and under-reported humanitarian crisis of the 21st century. Across two venues and twelve hours in East London, we’re teaming up with Gilles Peterson’s festival We Out Here and Foundation FM, the women and LGTBQI+ led, London radio station. Together we’ll be celebrating the community spirit of the underground by welcoming some of the best-loved names from across the UK club spectrum for extended and b2b sets. 100% of profits from this event are donated to War Child to help support their work in places like Yemen, where a seven year war has left more than 24m people (80% of the population) in need of humanitarian aid and 7.4m children in need of urgent help. More than one in two children suffer from stunted growth because of food shortages, 3.4m are out of school, and more than two thirds of girls enter into early marriage before the age of 18 as desperate families feel they have no other options to alleviate their economic situation. A huge thank you to Oval Space, We Out Here, Foundation FM and all DJs donating their time and energy in support -- 💡 TRTD members get exclusive access to £10 tickets (up to 50% off regular tickets). 🗝 If you’re already a member, the discount link will be in your members portal. The dance floor has long represented a sanctuary for groups of all backgrounds and interests; a place where community, freedom, identity, self-expression is nurtured, without fear of recrimination. These shared values are at the heart of War Child's work in creating safe spaces for children impacted by conflict, where childhood can be reclaimed, and where simple pleasures like laughter, playing and dancing can be rediscovered. Continuing War Child’s 25 year heritage working with the music industry, TRTD celebrates this universal connection through a monthly membership powered by a growing network of generous partners from across the underground. From as little as £3/month you can gain exclusive access to music, events, merch and discounts, while also supporting War Child’s urgent work improving the lives of children in Afghanistan, Central African Republic, DRC, Iraq and Yemen.
