今年2月に静岡県沼津市の禅寺「大中寺」で開催された MUSO Culture Festival のキュレーションによる音楽イベントが渋谷 WOMB にて開催。
アーティストそれぞれの解釈によるメディテーション・サウンドを主体としたコンセプチュアルな一夜に AOKI takamasa や Yosi Horikawa、DJ KENSEI などの出演が決定した。
700余年の歴史を持つ沼津・大中寺の禅の世界に音楽やアートを接続させ、境内を360度カメラで撮影した3D アーカイブなどでも話題を呼んだフェスティバル MUSO Culture Festival 2021 。緊急事態宣言下の開催だったため、音楽コンテンツはオンライン配信のみとなったが、大中寺の多彩な景観を舞台に DJ KRUSH、Yosi Horikawa、ermhoi による禅を想起させるライヴセットは国内のみならず海外のオーディエンスからも称賛を浴びた。
今回はその MUSO Culture Festival のスピンオフ企画、SUN AT MIDNIGHT curated by MUSO Culture Festival として、渋谷 WOMB でオールナイトイベントを開催。
メインフロアはライヴアクトと DJ のハイブリットなラインナップで構成され、DJ として出演するのは、日本屈指の電子音楽家 AOKI takamasa と、 TRESVIBES のレジデント DJ を務める PI-GE の2組。そしてライヴセットを披露するのは、2月の MUSO Culture Festival でも圧巻のパフォーマンスを見せたサウンドデザイナー Yosi Horikawa と、昨年ドイツエレクトロニカ・実験音楽の老舗 Mille Plateaux からもアルバムをリリースしたトラックメーカー Teruyuki Kurihara、MUTEK.JP でのパフォーマンスやロンドンの NTS Radio へのミックス提供などでも注目を集める Sakura Tsuruta の3組となっている。
また、4F VIP フロアは、ロサンゼルスのネット・ラジオ・ステーション dublab の日本ブランチ dublab.jp をキュレーション。
HIP HOP を起点に80年代中期からシーンの最前線で活躍してきた DJ KENSEI をヘッドライナーに据え、dublab.jp のディレクターを担当する傍らプロデューサーや音楽ジャーナリストとしても活動する Masaaki Hara をはじめ、Sayuri、DJ Funnel、DJ Emerald、Hi-Ray、MORTSAFE といった dublab.jp に所縁のある DJ がラインアップされた。
本イベントのメインフロアの様子は ZAIKO にて有料配信(1000円)、4F の音声も dublab.jp にて同時配信される。アンビエントかつ実験的な個性ある世界観を是非体感していただきたい。

On December 17th, a music event curated by the "MUSO Culture Festival" will be held at Shibuya WOMB. AOKI takamasa, Yosi Horikawa, DJ KENSEI will appear alongside many more on a conceptual night with ambient & experimental sound based on the interpretation of each artist.
"MUSO Culture Festival 2021" is a festival that connects music and art to the Zen world of Daichuji Temple in Numazu, which has a history of more than 700 years. Since the event was held under the state of an emergency due to Covid 19, the live set reminiscent of Zen by DJ KRUSH, Yosi Horikawa, and ermhoi set in the colorful landscape of the temple were only distributed online.
However, this time an all-night event, "SUN AT MIDNIGHT” will be held at WOMB, Tokyo as a side project of the "MUSO Culture Festival".
The main floor consists of a hybrid lineup of live acts and DJs. One of Japan's leading electronic musicians AOKI takamasa and the resident of “TRESVIBES” PI-GE will set the tone at the beginning and end by DJing. Three live acts are as follows, Yosi Horikawa who performed at the MUSO Culture Festival in February is reappearing, Teruyuki Kurihara who released an album from the well-established German label "Mille Plateaux" last year and Sakura Tsuruta who has attracted an attention for her performance at MUTEK JP and providing mixes to NTS Radio in London.
In addition, the Japanese branch of the net radio station dublab in Los Angeles, dublab.jp is putting together the 4th floor lineup with DJ KENSEI who has been active at the forefront of the scene since the mid-1980s, Masaaki Hara who is also active as a music journalist while being in charge of the director of dublab.jp and DJs related to dublab.jp such as Sayuri, Funnel, DJ Emerald, Hi-Ray, and MORTSAFE have been added to the list.
Natsumi Sato, who worked on the art installation for Daichuji Temple at the "MUSO Culture Festival", is in charge of the artwork. It was drawn with the motif of "Magnolia Coco", a flower that blooms only at night.
The main floor of this event will be streamed via ZAIKO and the audio on the 4th floor will also be streamed simultaneously on dublab.jp. We hope you can join us either online or offline for what’s always in our mind the ambient and experimental sound curated by MUSO Culture Festival.
