Being the sticklers for tradition we are, we couldn't let the year end without us organising a typically last minute, seat of the pants, pulling it out the bag right at the death, restriction resistant, kind of NEW YEARS EVE ALL NIGHT PARTY! Henceforth the REVIVEHER NYE Hackney Wick Mini Rave!
After the runaway success of our 2019/20 shindig at HWK, we're back in that same beautifully covered courtyard (technically outdoors but covered and heated, so even with restrictions, it will be above board and safe to play). There’s also a new back room fitted with a brand new Tannoy sound system, cocktail bar and cosy seating. Soundtracking the occasion, we have a quite frankly ludicrous line up, featuring some of the finest selectors this city has to offer. And we're keeping it free before 11pm and only £5 advanced tickets that guarantee entry. Because why the fuck not.

So, without further ado, first up...we couldn't be more excited to announce a world first headline show from MISTER DELTOID, aka Johnny Aux (one half of PARANOID LONDON and Sworn Virgins) and Nathan Gregory Wilkins (one half of COWBOY RHYTHM BOX)!!
Two legendary DJs in their own right, their latest project represents the coming together of two maniacal musical minds in a genre bending, party blasting, esoteric extravaganza of epochal enormity. Anyone who has blissed out to Nathan's bi-weekly Ivan Smagghe co-hosted NTS show, Channelling, or stomped out to Cowboy Rhythmbox's huge productions, will know what a heavy-weight he is. He’s also been an infamous DJ in record collector circles for the best part of 30 years; soundtracked many fashion shows and parties from Prada and MiuMiu to Love Magazine and Chanel.
And those of you who have rocked out to the house and techno of Paranoid London, or freaked out to one of Johnny Aux's many other projects, like the his disco house infused Sworn Virgins productions released on 2 Many DJs’ Deewee label, will know that he's a dude who takes dancefloor silliness extremely seriously.
As Mister Deltoid, flexing their muscles together, this promises to be an intimate workout of the most exhilarating kind and exclusive debut from them you won’t want to miss. And what a night to do so, being NYE in an intimate courtyard in their home city of London. Bring it the fuck on.
Grace Sands (Adonis / DIY / NYC Downlow)
Leading the supporting cast of misfits and party freaks, we've got the incredible GRACE SANDS.
Grace has been a giant of the scene from day dot, doing us all a favour as one of the founding members of the most legendary free party and rave collective - DiY Sound System, the crew behind the infamous Castlemorton rave that led to Criminal Justice and Public Order act that banned unlicensed raves!
Founded in 1989 as one of the first house sound systems in the UK, DIY went on to define the UK style of deep house in the 90s. Grace has been a driving force in the scene ever since, touring the world as one half of Digs & Woosh, putting out compilations on Warp Records. Grace’s contribution to the UK house scene is unprecedented.
She continues to lead the charge in 2021 as a resident at London and Glastonbury's queer meccas ADONIS and NYC Downlow. This bitch is hardcore! And you gonna looove her ;)
KIERAN JANDU (Phonica Records)
Next up is Phonica Records stalwart Kieran. One of those DJ's widely considered to be a proper "selectors selector". But then again, he loves nothing more than turning any event he plays at into a full on, balls to the wall party, so he's certainly no b-side chin stroker. With his daily life spent at one of Europe’s leading record stores, he's granted access to the World’s freshest electronic music, so he's got the arsenal to pull out the most appropriate dance floor detonator to deal with even the most discerning dancers demands. And he ain't afraid to use it. We look forward to Kieran putting that Tannoy sound system through its paces in our intimate back room.
RENATA (1BTN)
And speaking of selectors, introducing Renata, who will be warming up proceedings. We don't actually know what Renata's middle name is, but we'll be surprised as shit if it isn't "eclectic". As her regular sets at Spiritland, Houghton, Gottwood, and her monthly 1BTN FM show will attest to, she can swing from balearic, to jazz funk, to soul, to afro, to house like it's nothing, and take the audience along with her in wrapt suspense while she does it. She’s spent many years around heavy diggers from the days of LNCC’s crew to her partner Andy, who runs Not An Animal Records. She's the perfect person to the set the tone for the evening, so get down early and let her ease you into proceedings like she's running a lovely hot bath of beats.
DISCOISDEAD (Netil Radio)
Now, we don't want to alarm anyone, but DISCOISDEAD...in the best way possible. EDWIN, the maestro behind cult Netil Radio show DISCOISDEAD, has been moving dancefloors for over ten years, and he's certainly going to be moving you come NYE. Earning his stripes on the Manchester DJ circuit, he first cut his teeth as part of the Jupiter Rooms collective, playing spaced-out disco, electro, house and techno to packed-out rooms at Joshua Brooks, The Warehouse Project and the legendary Sankeys. Now programming the music at fashion events via Purple PR by Day and running his monthly radio show that features the darker side of disco, we couldn't be more excited to welcome him to HWK, because it's only right that if DISCOISDEAD, we should REVIVEHER!
LEZURE DJS (Glasgow): SLOAN B2B CIVIC GRIEF
Holding down the last set in room 2, from Hackney Wick via Glasgow, we've got the charismatic Civic Grief and Sloan, aka LEZURE DJs.
Frequenting booths from London to Glasgow; Edinburgh to Paris and Berlin, the LEZURE DJs have sprinkled their louche loudness in legendary venues like La Cheetah, Sneaky Pete’s and Wilde Renata.
HWK might not be quite as exotic, but with the new Tannoy rig we're whacking in room 2, you'll be hard pressed to find these lads sounding better anywhere else.
Civic Grief is also the label manager behind buzzing cosmic house and techno labels, Alien Communications and Space Dust. So, expect to be transported in to a black hole of carnage in that wee room.
REVIVEHER
After a crazy year that started out with a sell out sit down rave with friends in The Lot, followed by another sold out sit down rave that turned in to pandemonium with A Guy Called Gerald and finally an actual legitimate, standing and dancing disco affair with Nick The Record and Kay Suzuki, Bi-Bop and Best can finally free themselves of curfews and offer a bonafide all night dance in a wicked little space.
The residents / owners will be bringing the New Year’s in style with their trademark disco fuelled, energetic set. Make sure you down before the clock strikes 12!
