𝗣𝗶𝗴 & 𝗗𝗮𝗻 In 1999 Igor met Dan on a flight to Spain and began a partnership that has now risen to a point of recognition worldwide. Their mixture of influences has given them a sound, which is easily recognizable and seems to be loved by the masses. Both behind the decks and in the studio they’ve proved that their momentum is constantly on the rise. They’ve had a year playing the worlds most famous venues and celebrated a #1 in both the overall and Techno genres on Beatport with their smash hit “Growler” Pig&Dan also released the album “Modular Baptism” on their own label ELEVATE and was hailed as a true reference to their unique sonic diversity. After the albums release it shot straight to #1 on the Beatport release charts and stayed there for a very long stint. Other highlights this year included the “Mexico” EP on Adam Beyer’s Drumcode which celebrated yet again top ten hits, plus the honour of compiling and Mixing the final Space Ibiza compilation CD along side DJ legend Carl Cox. Also their latest collaboration with Techno Queen Monika Kruse on her own imprint Terminal M smashed up the Beatport charts once again. Currently the dynamic duo are once again celebrating top ten on Beatport with their remix of Kollektiv Turmstrasse’s hit track “Sorry I’m late” which gained massive support from industry leaders such as Solomun and the prolific Maceo Plex… Pig&Dan have experienced a year of even more incredible moments meeting so many inspiring people whilst playing at festivals from the epic Tomorrowland along side Deadmau5, Adam Beyer and Eric Prydz, to Nocternal Wonderland in California with Anna, Matador and John Digweed. Plus playing amazing clubs such as the incredible Ushuaia Ibiza along side Solomun at his +Live event and New Yorks Techno Haven “Output”Saying this perhaps the biggest highlight of the year was spinning at final Space Ibiza opening party. The Future is super bright with upcoming collaborating ready for release with headline artists Adam Beyer, Harvey Mckay, ANNA and Stephan Hinz to name a few, and shortly we will all experience yet another Drumcode release that should be big. Pig&Dan are all about the Music, pushing that musical envelope by having a recognisable sound without boundaries, plus are renowned for supplying the crowd with a unique smiley faced experience to remember… 𝐍𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐞 NANCY aka Lauren Rusowicz is an exciting unpredictable talent. The Dublin-based, UK-raised live artist is enjoying some well-deserved word of mouth, thanks to her acid-soaked live sets in gritty sweaty clubs. After twelve years of DJing in prestigious venues like Ibiza’s Sankeys and Space and Warehouse Project (Manchester), she moved to Dublin about four years ago and began to work on her own sound, switching to live shows instead of DJing and now identifies as a musician who plays all her synths and drums live ‘like a [techno, acid and house] band’. How heavy or melodic she goes on stage depends on how she reads the crowd, but can’t resist deploying some OTT acid techno while she gets into her sets and headbangs to the point of whiplash. When not playing live (eg Printworks, WHP with Patrick Topping, headlining in Irish and UK cities), NANCY records her tracks and currently has an impressive phalanx of planned releases TBC, joining a back catalogue of tracks on labels like Day&Night, Constant Circles and Digital:Groove. The young Lauren began DJing learning to mix on the numark turntables she bought with her first paycheck at 16, graduating to her first ‘proper’ residency at 21. Her main musical focus is on melody, beginning with the 50s music she heard as a child, especially singers like Doris Day. ‘If you strip back a pop song today, you’ll know what it is even with no singer. Back then, if you took away the singer, you wouldn’t have a clue what the track was. That’s why melodics is my fave part of music.’ Other early influences are trance circa 1996-2000, Orbital, Sasha, Underworld, Prodigy, The Shamen, Moby, Josh Wink… music played by her big sis while getting ready to rave, watched and absorbed by the 8 year old Lauren R who then and there decided to make music her life and career. With new tracks to release, upcoming live gigs quickly mounting up, and her mysterious membership of the ‘Secret Society’ collective, which runs a ‘not so legal’ rave, NANCY (Live) has a lot going on. Her refusal to care about looking cool makes her one of the most authentic and actually coolest artists on the current scene, who goes her own way and ‘bloody loves it’.
