Get Tickets: bit.ly/sonjamdc Having met Zip at Weetamix (Geneva) during the days where she was a resident, Sonja Moonear was no stranger to Perlon, but had no idea that Zip was the cofounder. She says that she’ll never forget the day that he invited her to play at his party in Berlin, a true turning point in her career. The Swiss native would go on to meet Ricardo Villalobos at the old Panorama bar at one of the many “Get Perlonized” events, where they shared a 24 hour musical journey. Ever since, the Ruta 5 label boss has carved her artistic direction thanks to her great sets and minimal sound. Growing up in the suburbs of Vancouver, D. Tiffany taught herself to play the guitar. When she was 18, she found herself in a synth punk band called MT-40, where played the keyboard. It was when Bobby Draino joined the band that D. Tiffany was exposed to his studio and became fascinated with learning to produce house and techno. With releases on 1080p, Pacific Rhythm, Oscillate Tracks and more, her earlier work was a more lo-fi feel good house sound, but since then has shifted to slightly tougher tracks with more emphasis on breakbeat and electro.
