  • 2nd in a series of Deeper Groove parties @ Bodytonic venues Greg Dowling and Shane Johnson have been playing and producing records in their hometown of Cork for more than twenty years. Throughout the 1990s their DJ residency at the city’s legendary Sir Henry’s venue introduced a generation of Irish clubbers to house music and played host to some of the biggest names on the international underground circuit. Since the late 1990s, Greg and Shane's production work under the Fish Go Deep name has travelled far and wide. After an early series of EPs on New Jersey's seminal i! Records, more than fifty releases have followed on labels as influential and diverse as Innervisions, Local Talk, Freerange, Large, Nite Grooves and Om Records. In 2005 their own Go Deep imprint got off to a flying start when the first single off their debut album, The Cure and the Cause, was licensed by UK house giant, Defected, and became a huge club and chart hit. Since then they have released numerous EPs and have remixed a wide variety of house luminaries - Kerri Chandler, Alton Miller, K-Alexi and Charles Webster, among many others. Eddie Reynolds aka Tr One is a DJ and producer based in Carlow, Ireland. A much-respected figure within Ireland’s fertile electronic music scene, Reynolds cites the likes of Dublin’s D1 Recordings, Kraftwerk and J Dilla as early influences. Equally inspired by vintage sounds from Chicago and Detroit, he started dabbling in production in the early 00s alongside fellow Irish producer, Dean Feeney. As Tr One the duo released their first EP, ‘Inner Thoughts’ via the much-respected Fine Art imprint back in 2007. An auspicious slice of deep, acid-led techno, the title track quickly introduced the duo to a whole new audience outside of their native land. Fast-forward over a decade and although the project may now consist of Reynolds only, his dedication to all things house, techno and electro remains unwavering. A prolific producer, Reynolds’ sounds have led him to some of his country’s most-renowned labels, including Lunar Disko, Apartment, Bodytonic and Pogo. What’s more, his music has earned the respect of numerous high-profile names, and has been remixed by a stellar cast including Sonja Moonear, Lerosa and John Heckle. From a DJ perspective, Reynolds has played in all of Dublin’s foremost nightspots including Twisted Pepper, Wigwam, Twitch Belfast and District 8. A DJ with a truly eclectic vision, this is represented in the names he has played alongside. From Juan Atkins to DJ Stingray to Helena Hauff, Dave Clarke, Surgeon, Maurice Fulton and Steffi, Reynolds is a DJ capable of stepping up under any occasion. Reynolds’ latest endeavours have brought him to scene-shaping British label Don’t Be Afraid (where last year he released one of his most-cherished releases to date, the magnificent ‘A Month Has Passed’ EP), as well as Lunar Disko, where he collaborated again, this time alongside compatriot R Kitt on the no-less-emphatic sounds of LDRX7. With future releases in the pipeline for Lunar Disko as well as numerous others to follow, these are exciting times for one of Ireland’s most consistent electronic music producers. He recently has released under new alias Themisto Man and is continuing to work and release music from his base in Carlow, Ireland.
