Melbourne BIPOC label and events company, Yo CiTY announces their second instalment of Blackout
Experience; a free family friendly summer beach festival, presented by Yo CiTY Connect.
Presented by Yo CiTY Connect, the events arm of the label, Blackout Experience will combine music, food & drink, art and community in a free all-inclusive family friendly affair on Saturday 12th March. St Kilda’s South Beach Reserve will come alive with DJs, delectable food and beverage options to bring together people of Melbourne to celebrate our multicultural society.
Featuring 12 of Melbourne’s hottest DJs including Featuring Claddy, Amin Payne, Johan Elgstrom, C-Pash, Brotha Asanti, DJ Nam, Lady Erica, Kebs, Datboy, Yenzi & Chris NG! The one day festival boasts a block-party vibe filled with art and culture in a way that adds to the much-needed vibrancy of our recovering city while supporting local artists and businesses.
Taste the difference! With the team from The Taste of Senegal who will bring their renowned Senegalese savorous cuisine to the beach festival. Enjoy the food that’s just so damn delicious with Pasta Face who will bring you many flavours served with their handmade potato gnocchi!
Founded in 2020 on the back of Melbourne lockdowns, Yo CiTY is Melbourne’s premiere label and talent management company that showcases bespoke happenings to bring like-minded people together and understand and celebrate issues that are pertinent to BIPOC experience. Championing new music and art from Black, Indigenous and Creatives of Colour, Yo CiTY has a firm commitment to storytelling that is fierce, tenacious and relationship building. The fully independent team curates exclusive experiences where art-makers from across the creative spectrum—including visual, oral, sonic, fashion, digital, entrepreneurs and more—collaborate with musicians in a way that elevates each other’s practice and ultimately bridges the revenue gap within the creative industry.
