Well. That's all folks... the last ever weekly Optimo.
We will open at 9pm and hope to be on till 4am. Currently awaiting confirmation about the license. If not it shall be 3am. So that is at least SIX hours of Optimo...
We think a lot of people may turn out for this. Please be patient and good natured to each other and don't skip the queue. People have booked flights from Brazil, Canada, Belgium, USA, Norway, Sweden, Germany, France and more just to be here on sunday. We are VERY humbled.
There will be no guest list. However, we have a very small number of very close friends and family who we want to be there so if you see anyone walking straight in, don't get annoyed as it will be one of this small group or it will be a golden tickets winner (the competition we ran on our message board echatio).
We've always thought that optimo is a forward looking music club.We think we should go out looking to the future, so expect to only hear the latest basstep and uk funky tracks all night. Maybe we'll chuck "stand on the word" on at the end just for old time's sake?

Alistair Mateer - The word privilege comes up for me. Honestly what a fucking privilege it's been to have something like Optimo in my life for the last ten years.
Jill Mingo - Getting worse and not working on a Monday.
Daryn Shepherd - Getting in early, getting a seat, hearing a song such as Straight To Hell by The Clash and thinking "This is a strange choice" and then seconds later thinking "This is absolutely appropriate" and then having that as the mantra for the rest of the night/life and at the end thinking "I wish i had got up and danced earlier." Then doing the same every week.

Teamy Teamy - Optimo is...never getting a job that you have to work on a Monday...knowing exactly where you were for ~580 Sundays...my John Peel...a social club, a music education class and a hedonists dream all rolled into one...

Clair Crawford - If there had been no Optimo I doubt I'd be working in music...it gave me a renewed passion for music, some of the most amazing friends..and of course the jumping, hitting the ceiling, sweating, laughing, screaming, hugging and the utter chaos and nonsense in the club and after all add into the mix...

Brian John Dunsmore - For me, Optimo is a place where I forged many long-lasting friendships over the years; but it's also a place where I could feel right at home dancing by myself in the middle of the dancefloor just absorbing the music.

Laura Hyde - When i try to imagine what my life would be like without Optimo having been in it, i see a very different (and duller!) picture. The wonderful friends i have met, the music i love, the bands i have been in, and even meeting the man who is now my husband can all be attributed in one way or another to Optimo.
