Artists Bios: ***Lee Foss*** is a Los Angeles and London based dj and producer, whose rapid rise through the dj ranks in 2009 and critically lauded production work are making him a name to truly watch for 2010. After a move from his longtime home base of Chicago, Lee became a vital part of L.A.’s vibrant and rapidly mutating techno scene, and quickly became one of Americas most in demand djs. After after a 3 year stint in Ibiza in the beginning of the decade, Lee spent years as one of Chicago’s busiest and most forward thinking djs. The recent move to Los Angeles paid dividends and helped to draw international attention to both his djing and production work. While in both Chicago and L.A. Lee remained promoters and clubs first choice for booking with credible cutting edge artists, it took 2 solid years of hard work and dedication working full time on music to take the step from local dj to artist. In addition to residencies at Culprit’s rooftop parties at the Standard and Avalon Hollywood, Lee spent 2009 crisscrossing the globe, after a breakout WMC, including a groundbreaking performance at the Crosstown Rebels party. Regular gigs at Wolf + Lamb’s Marcy Hotel in Brooklyn, and a series of critically acclaimed podcasts in the second half of the year cemented his place as a rising star internationally. Lee’s production has garnered ever more attention than his djing, where his both in his collaboration with Jamie Jones as Hot Natured and in his solo releases are being released to near universal acclaim. 2009 saw the release of a pair of Hot Natured ep’s, a solo Lee Foss ep and a solo track on the highly lauded Significant Others Too ep on Wolf + Lamb. With tracks already being supported from everyone from Laurent Garnier to Ewan Pearson to Ivan Smagghe and many more, Lee’s hard work is paying big dividends. In addition to helping launch the L.A. based label Culprit with friends and collaborators Droog and providing some of its seminal releases, and playing a hand in the success of Wolf + Lamb in 2009, Lee and Jamie are Launching a pair of their own labels at the beginning of 2010 Hot Natured, and HNR. A part time move to London to focus on the brand, and a series of high profile Hot Natured parties in Miami, Detroit, and in Europe, should give Lee the opportunity to take the steps from buzzword to star. Cutting edge djs have certainly taken notice of Lee’s production work, Hot Natured h.e.a.d.s. ep (Culprit) and Electric Feel Edits (Wolf + Lamb) garnered support and high praise from Damian Lazarus: “heads is such a cool track it heralds the new birth of a fresh west coast techno sound.”, Phillip Jung, (M.A.N.D.Y.) : “heads: sounds a bit like plastikman translated into 2009 with a nice house groove. For sure a killer on the dancefloor.”, Sebo K, Ryan Elliot, Martin Landsky, Dan Ghenacia, Kiki and many more. Lee’s The Edge ep (Culprit) saw praise and Radio 1 play from Heidi and Dave Clarke, and support from Sasha, Swayzak, Jamie Jones, Three, Matt Tolfrey, Nic Fanciulli and many of the artists who supported the Hot Natured releases. It would seem the word is out, with a slew of new Hot Natured and solo ep’s lined up for release, and Lee’s highly anticipated solo album nearing completion for a Spring release, and the Hot Natured labels and events poised for world domination, the fresh sound Lee is cultivating shows no signs of slowing down. http://www.myspace.com/leefoss --------------------------- KRAMNIK The whirlwind story of Kramnik spun into dizzy heights in 2009 when he posted the first of a series of free mixes on his website.
