2 years of almost complete silence, some might call us lazy, but maybe we were just biding our time. Simmering ideas in the industrial vats of coca cola located just off the North Circular, looming coke-bottle-shaped topiaries standing guard over our half-baked desires; desperately scrabbling for our creative spark in a polystyrene casket of chicken wings, long past their sell-by date, dumped unceremoniously on the side of the road in some half-forgotten suburb of London; searching for meaning in a landscape all to recently populated by glass-fronted high-rise twat-edifices. Maybe we were just lazy.
But sometimes surplus electronic detritus that was thrown out on the street when we thought no one was looking at 3 in the morning somehow creeps back into the house unannouced. Sometimes old CRT TVs, tape decks and all the devices of forgotten years ressurect the dead formats they once consumed and vomit them back into your lap. Sometimes the e-waste of nations stuck in a dizzying forward trajectory spill out of their solitudinous landfill graveyards to haunt the living. Sometimes promoters of quasi-political nights will decide to get off their arses and put something on again.

Scottish-born producer Gavin Hislop produces electronic music across the underground spectrum from jungle inflected breakcore and IDM under his Babyshaker alias to absolutely stomping halftime, bass music and neuro as Blockdata. With tracks tactically designed to fuck your already-obsolete current tech to absolute bits, Blockdata's music points towards a far more exciting future; one full of mad cybernetic melodies and future-shock inducing extra-dimensional kickdrums designed for 22nd century dancefloors. C MANTLE
Genre-mangling wizard and owner of the absolutely essential record label Acre Records C Mantle returns to Towards Collapse once again to give you all a right good rollicking. While C Mantle's usual musical output relies on a complex, hard to summarise, series of influences from IDM to Electro to Techno to everything else, this time around we've asked him to do an extra special set of some of his harder productions, so he'll be bringing you a vicious explosion of speedcore and flashcore. You've clearly been naughty since we've been away, think of this as your punishment.

MEDIKA
MEDIKA is a Yugoslavian-born, UK-based musician and video artist who landed here at the tender age of 9, speaking no English and was raised largely by Nintendo. She started indulging in her passions at a young age, getting her first decks at 15--a belt drive Soundlab and a standard record player--which trained her up for the 1210s bought soon after. Surrounded by a wide company of fellow DJs, she snuck off to university and self-funded a Masters degree in Video Arts. Alongside a music video showreel that runs deep through the bass music scene, Medika also kept her club night Noise Test alive using her video skills and the company of fellow musicians who used it as a testing ground for their unreleased productions. This has since expanded into a festival which she manages in her homeland.
First female on tons of underground labels, Medika is stacking dubs with a heavy focus on experimental sub genres of drum and bass. She can happily take you on a deep journey but equally mash up the dance if it takes her fancy.
A career in IT has funded all her projects over the last 16 years with the future looking bright and showing no signs of slowing down.

AMOUSEMENT
Amousement is the moniker of Marcello Ruggiu, co-organiser of London CRUX nights and member of POKORA Soundsystem. Combining his musical output with audio reactive visuals applied to machine learning technologies, Amousement brings breakbeats, acid basslines, and smooth melodies to the table, creating highly-emotive peaks which then proceed to plunge you into a freefall of complex IDM hyperactivity.

MIKE DARKFLOOR
For the eight edition of Towards Collapse we welcome back Mike Darkfloor who is the presenter, producer and voice of the long running podcast Mantis Radio as well as the dominant force behind the acclaimed Darkfloor. He is a man of many talents.
With a penchant for the darker, twisted side of techno, electro, D&B and other grimace-inducing bass heavy noise, Mike has been at the cutting edge of techno for years. Culminating in the emergence of record label Darkfloor Sound – pushing the work of Ontal, David Meiser, Phat Chex, Savagen, Lag + Forest People, Vacated, Matt TdK, Ruins, Savier and Herd. Expanding and bridging the sounds he champions on Mantis Radio.
His DJ sets present a varied selection, taking in sharp grime, industrial noise, rich and relentless bass weight, downbeat drone and an uncompromising techno backbone you can rely on. Over the years he has shared the stage alongside Svreca, Ancient Methods, Perc, Kamikaze Space Programme, Shelley Parker, Inigo Kennedy, Voidloss, P-Hocto, Coefficient, Jerome Hill, C Mantle and many others. Formerly known as DVNT, he operates in sound & music as Mike Darkfloor, and as graphic designer, digital creative, web dev, and carpenter as makemassair.

Voted best named DJ of all time by Mixmag probably, it's that cheeky resident wanker again playing tunes to slap your landlord to. Like listening to a man headbutt a wheely bin outside your house repeatedly but it sounds good for some reason.
