Brooklyn mainstay and underground hero (she even has the award from DJ Mag to prove it), Lauren Flax returns to Good Room on July 22. She'll be joined by Antenes and Amourette in the main room plus Mystery Zone Records in the Bad Room.
Anyone who has seen Lauren DJ before knows how much she loves to give life to a hedonistic dancefloor. Pushing the boundaries of what a DJ is defined as, over the years she's made countless productions (that have ended up on labels like The Bunker New York, Nervous Records and 2MR), toured the world as part of trip hop group CREEP and work with Grammy nominated artist Sia and Tricky. Playing across so many projects and genres, she loves everything from ambient to acid house to jacking house to analog techno.
Lauren will be joined by The Bunker artist Antenes, whose eclectic DJ sets dive into acid-laced techno, shimmering electro, shadowy atmospheres and beyond. Weird Science's Amourette will be joining them on warm up who specializes in spaced out electro, synth-wave, off kilter techno, psychedelic distortions, deep baselines.
New Orlean's Mystery Zone Records will be taking over the Bad Room for the night with sets from Redance, Quickweave and Hiatt dB. The label, which focuses on sharing dance music of the American South with the world, will be celebrating its latest release 'Burning Heat'. The split EP from Redance and Quickweave draws inspiration from the lessor-dug House stylings of the early 00s with lush textures and sensual atmospheres against heavier rhythms and more circular, hypnotic arrangements to create deep club workouts focused on fostering connection, joy and romance on the dancefloor.
