Robin The Fog presents an evening of eye-popping, ear-bending delights from some of London’s finest pushers of the audio-visual envelope. Features tape loops, zoetropes, multi-armed turntablism and possibly at least one scary mask.
Marking 10 years since first coming to prominence with hugely-acclaimed 2012 LP The Ghosts Of Bush, Howlround is a quintet (four slightly battered machines machines, one slightly battered operator) that creates recordings and performances entirely from manipulating natural acoustic sounds on vintage reel-to-reel tape machines, with all electronic effects or artificial reverb strictly forbidden.
He plays alongside Strictly Kev who has been involved with the multi-producer DJ Food project on Ninja Tune for over 25 years, opto-musical agglomerate pairing of British musician Dan Hayhurst and New Zealand animator Reuben Sutherland as Sculpture, internationally known Steve Davis and Franziska Lantz, a Swiss-born, London-based artist and musician who runs the label Global Warming Records. Working with a minimal setup of drum machines, synths and vocals expect the same punishing doom-laden Techno as you’ll find on her three solo LPs to date.
