Joal..
Music cannibal, constant sonority accumulator, sometimes melancholic and crazy thinker, are just some of the variables that generate his individual. Not wanting to converge in a specific genre of sounds, instead, he wants to be the synthesis of a continuous and restless contamination and commingling of various elements and sonority absorbed over the years.
Basic elements from house and techno are without doubt his most common ground to explore, although, continuous experimentation, openness to change and versatility are key words to define his music.
His dedication gave him the opportunity to release on some of the most well known labels in the world, like M_nus, Selador, Knee Deep in Sound, as well as having frequent exposure in the featuring sections and TOP charts of stores like Beatport.com.
In 2010 and until 2017, he was in charge of Monog Records, whose Modus Operandi is to create a unique and familiar relationship with the Artists and their music.
In 2018 he joined JEPE and Juaau to form Perce
Perce is a record label aiming to tells the lush story of personal discovery and eternal devotion to the elements of nature, which weave in and out of consciousness into a state of being.
Jepe
Jepe (Diynamic/Blossom Kollektiv/Cecille/Get Physical/CIC/Serenades/Mulemusiq)
Jepe, dj and producer residing in Berlin, sets foot on his path through the music world connected to the radio in 1993. After exploring the radio, starts to develop his work as a dj and, in 1997, takes up the role as resident at Estação da Luz, in Aveiro (Portugal). This experience in one of the reference clubs in Portugal (having been one of the firsts to be involved in the rave scene from the nineties with events that mix themselves with the history of dance music scene in the country) confers to this artist the possibility to grow as part of a unique and striking movement. He’s role in the club was then constituted, also, by the artistic management and programming from 2001 onwards. He becomes one of the main responsible for the introduction of major and most influential artists worldwide.
His resume as producer is extensive, having already seen is name recorded (as Johnwaynes) in labels from all over the world, as Let ́s Play House from the U.S., Mule Musiq and Endless Flight from Japan, Cecille, Compost and CIC from Germany, Brique Rouge, Sui Generiz and Faces/MCDE from France, Raw Cutz and Flame from Spain, Baile Musik from Croatia, Dissident from the UK, Back & Foth from Italy, and of course Bloop and Groovement from Portugal. In an era that so many people talk about the internationalization of Portuguese music, Jepe has been doing it for quite some time.
In the past years, he has been performing in some of the best and most important clubs and events in Portugal, as well as in Spain, France, Italy, Austria, Germany, USA or Turkey. Currently develops, hand in hand with his career as dj and producer, the part of A&R at Blossom Kollektiv (Austrian label based in Innsbruck).
It is with the subtlety and elegance that characterizes him, that personifies a multi talented artist, that doesn’t fulfill with little, and seeks and aspire to do and be always better.
