Subterania presents:

  • We are excited to announce Henri Bergmann from the label Renaissance & Watergate will be headlining along with Union Jack, Luke Brancaccio, Colin Dale & Grantly, bringing you diverse sounds & unique waves. Come and witness this outstanding house/techno lineup in one of London’s most iconic venues. See you on the dance floor! Lineup: Henri Bergmann: Henri Bergmann is a house & techno producer and DJ, with an emotive and melodic sound. A sound that’s rare to come by in London. Recently signed to Bullitt's global roster, Henri’s productions have been on fire. Her tracks “Nexus” and “Protection” were both featured on the cover of Spotify’s Electronic Rising playlist. Indeed, mention the Dodi Palese Remix remix of her track ‘Protection’ to any clued-up melodic house fan and you’re likely to be met with a blissed-out response, so beloved was the cut, which also ended up in Tale of Clubs’ top 10 for 2021. In 2022, Bergmann released Higher Dimension, her collaboration with Fat Cosmoe and husband Wennink on vocals again, with remixes by Jonathan Kaspar, Mark Höffen and 19:26, the original becoming a staple in Maceo Plex’s recent sets. Her Awa Power remix on Labyrinth is guaranteed to get any bootie shaking on the dancefloor, while her debut EP on Watergate saw Henri utilizing her own voice on her productions for the first time. The Mind Control EP, which came out in July 2022, included a strong cast of collaborators and remixers, including Watergate resident Biesmans, Wennink, Echonomist and Afterlife’s Stephan Jolk. The EP received fantastic support including two Top 10s on Beatport, Spotify playlisting, and has featured in sets by everyone from Agents of Time, to Solomun and Dixon. Already a firm favourite with the streaming world, the dance community has embraced Henri with releases on Sapiens, Stil Vor Talent, Impressum, Watergate, Labyrinth, Renaissance & Blaufield, while her dance imprint Automatik is getting support from Tale of Us, Ame, Solomun, Innellea, Adriatique, Colyn, Adam Port, Agoria, Nicole Moudaber, Jamie Jones, Jennifer Cardini & John Digweed. 2022 has been a busy year with shows in the UK, Germany, Ibiza, Netherlands, and India with Ame, Fideles, Colyn, Jimi Jules, Echonomist, Multinotes, Musumeci, Kollektive Turmstrasse, Jan Blomqvist & Oliver Koletzki, playing at Pacha, E1, Electric Brixton, Steelyard, Watergate, Orange Yard, Glastonbury, Secret Garden Party, Wilderness & Noisily Festival. Union Jack: Union Jack are Simon Berry (Platipus Records / Art Of Trance) & Paul Brogden (Seismic Records / POB). With original band members Simon Berry and Claudio Giussani disillusioned with the state of dance music in the UK in 1993, they joined forces. Their debut single ‘Two Full Moons & A Trout’ was a ground-breaking and innovative tour de force and was immediately picked up by German label Labworks followed by Caspar Pound’s Rising High Records. The follow up to ‘Two Full Moons & A Trout’ was ‘Cactus’, a track that reinforced their rapidly growing reputation which inspired them to record an album. ‘There Will Be No Armageddon’ is a collection of works that encompasses the duo’s philosophy of music to be enjoyed both at home as well as in a club. As a result, ambient soundscapes are blended with a concoction of world rhythms, ethnic vocals and mind-bending blorange, grurple and whellow, all culminating in an unequivocally brilliant debut album. From the album came the critically acclaimed ‘Red Herring’ which was also picked up by Rising High. Between ’96 and ’98 Union Jack undertook three remixes: Simple Minds: ‘Waterfront’, Utah Saints: ‘Star’ and Mary Kiani: ‘Let The Music Play’. Union Jack reformed in 2008, with new member Paul Brogden alongside Simon Berry, both having previously collaborated under the guise of ‘Clanger' with their seminal release ‘Seadog’. Their visionary single ‘Papillon’ paved the way for their eagerly anticipated and highly acclaimed 2nd album 'Pylon Pigs' in 2009. Singles 'Funnelweb' and 'Triclops' followed. Remixes of Papillon and Red Herring surfaced in 2011 as well as a Union Jack Retrospective album. In Nov 2012, Paul and Simon delivered 'Gibbon' and ‘Baboon’, and more recently their excellent single ‘Spasm’. Playing Live has always been an integral part of what Union Jack do, having toured extensively across USA, Canada, Mexico, Russia, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, and all over Europe. They continue to perform their captivating Live at sets at events Worldwide. Luke Brancaccio: Luke Brancaccio is a DJ and producer of global experience and escalating renown. His musical evolution has lead him from frontman of the British band “Suicide Sports Club” and the chart-topping production partnership of Brancaccio & Aisher to headlining international events and featuring on the cover of DJ Magazine. A perennial of Bedrock, with whom he has had more releases than any other artist, he has also signed in the last year with Renaissance, Mobilee, Circus, Crosstown Rebels, Lost & Found, Sudbeat, Selador and his cutting-edge tracks have swept the charts, generating several number ones. Widespread critical acclaim has lead to collaborations with Nick Muir and John Digweed. Now at the vanguard of his craft, he has just remixed a brace of classics; Air and Beth Hirschʼs “All I Need” for Last Man Music (the label of Maceo Plex, Solomun, UNKLE and Bookashade), and Rockers Revengeʼs “Walkinʼ On Sunshine”. An album for Bedrock is out this year. Colin Dale: Any blurb about Colin Dale's career is bound to exclude many seminal moments, such is the extent of his achievements in almost four decades behind the decks. In 1982, Dale started warming up for Tim Westwood in central London clubs like Heaven. He cut his teeth playing soul, funk and boogie in clubs and on pirate radio station Phase One, until landing a slot on Kiss FM in 1986. Over the next 16 years, Dale became London's answer to The Wizard, with his Abstrakt Dance show (and related Outer Limits mix CDs) introducing a whole generation to the cutting-edge sounds of Detroit, Chicago and beyond. Dale is a visionary DJ, one of the first to explore the links between funk, boogie and proto-house, then going through phases of industrial techno, Detroit techno, acid and the softer tech house sound he spins today. Aside from his DJing, Dale is a fixture of UK dance music, as a former dancer, promoter of legendary parties like Knowledge, artist manager and label owner. As a producer and remixer, his credits range from an early record on Paul Oakenfold's Perfecto label, to the EPs he continues to drop on Abstrakt Dance Records today. He doesn't rest on the success of his hallowed days, continuing his presence on the London club circuit and tirelessly pushing his sound into the future. Grantly: Having started out putting on underground parties in London's Warehouses and the countryside of the home counties in the early nineties Grantly has been DJing for over 25 years. He is one of the resident DJs at Glastonbury's Rabbit Hole where he runs the highly acclaimed Funkingham Palace dance floor. He also is the founder of the 'Little People' Party collective and organiser of some truly classic underground dance parties in many corners of the globe. His DJ style is truly varied but is most at home in front of a late night or early morning deep Tech house crowd who are not afraid to experiment.
