The Cyclist (aka Buz Ludza) is an Irish producer based in Liverpool, UK, who serves up a distinct DIY approach to dance music that explores the impact that tape manipulation and experimentation can have on the dance sound. His direct influences span an eclectic range of music from Kosmische, 60s psychedelia and post-punk sensibilities to seminal Chicago house, techno, jungle and dub. Since his critically acclaimed album Bones In Motion, named one of the best releases of the year by XLR8R and Boomkat, Morrison has continued to release truly thought-provoking and heady productions, capturing a forward thinking and yet infectious dance sound on labels such as Stones Throw, Leaving Records, Hypercolour, All City and 100% Silk.
As head of Tape Throb Records, he oversaw an infectious output of releases by the likes of Baltra and AL-90, and since the world reopened has been heading a new event and radio series in Liverpool, UK called Overload.
Whilst a forerunner in alternative dance productions for the past 10 years, it's the live arena in which The Cyclist's effect is really felt. Expect genre-spanning sets ranging afrobeat, benga, dub, hindi acid, psychedelic-tinged house, hidden jungle gems and all sorts of bombastic bunker busting beats.
