Helping us start the new year is Battle Hymn resident, the inimitable
ELI ESCOBAR
Eli Escobar is the quintessential New York City DJ. A devoted collector, explorer and
a connoisseur of all kinds of music spanning every genre, he is spent over two decades in love with the NY club and house scene (the feelings are mutual!)
Most at home hunched over the decks at some jumping club, he also has production magic at his fingertips. While growing up in Manhattan Eli worked for a
time in a record shop, soaking up the sounds of New York’s clubbing epicenter which
strongly informed his take on dance music and the shape of his three albums, 2014’s Up All Night, 2016’s Happiness, & 2018’s Shout.
Keeping him busy outside of the studio & outside of his Battle Hymn residency is Tiki Disco in Brooklyn, his LeBain residency, & guest appearances at some of the most acclaimed clubs world wide, while recently fitting in two Master classes for Boiler Room.
As a Battle Hymn resident Eli owns the room he plays in. Never scared to take us on a journey, he is at once a trusty resident and at the same time a surprise every time with his daring but always skillful mixes that really take Battle Hymn’s motto to new heights … ”The Gospel According to the Dancefloor!”

LA underground staple and Battle alumni Mez draws inspiration from the roots of house music - bringing a fresh ear to a classic sound.
He has confided in us that long ago he had an epiphany of becoming a DJ while hearing a set by Honey Dijon on the Battle Hymn dancefloor…we’re glad he was there that night, because he turned into one hell of a DJ and we’re honored to have him on our stage to hopefully inspire the next Mez on the dancefloor!

SMOKIN’ JO
Coming to us straight from London, Smokin' Jo is now a UK legend! Starting her career off at the legendary afterhours TRADE in London, she spent three years as one of its residents, blending her mixture of uplifting songs, dirty beats and jackin house.
That would only be the first of her iconic residencies, later following with a 10 year residency at SPACE and many more regular gigs across the island of Ibiza, and some of the best clubs and festivals internationally from BLOCK9 at Glastonbury to doing the music for runway fashion shows. Smokin Jo has nearly done it all in her over 30 years behind the decks…and is still the only female DJ to have ever won DJ Mag's coveted DJ of the Year Award.
Smokin' Jo has not played here in over a decade and we’re happy to be bringing her across the pond for this very special edition of Battle Hymn New Year’s Day!

TEDD PATTERSON

Coming from Atlanta, Tedd established himself as a rising star in the NY 90s underground dance music scene. After numerous guest spots at some of New York’s most famous clubs like Limelite, Club USA, Tunnel, Save The Robots, Tedd was handpicked for The Magic Sessions alongside all-stars Louie Vega and Tony Humphries. His signature party “Vibal” earned him a 13 year residency at the award-winning club Cielo, all while playing internationally at some of the worlds best clubs.
As a producer and remixer, Tedd has made equally impactful appearances on celebrated, taste making labels pumping out house classics.But behind the decks is where we love to see him. He is a Battle Hymn regular and fave, and we’re excited for him to be the first one to christen the Battle Hymn decks in 2023!
