  • A well-known cliche says that every ending has a new beginning. Soon a new stage will begin without an electronic club in Białystok. FOMO's bold, ambitious, yet somewhat crazy club project comes to an end on November 26. Could things have turned out differently? Do these types of projects have a chance to exist? Or can peripheral initiatives simply can not compete with large, central actors? Before we start the last dance at FOMO (with a secret lineup full of surprises), we will try to answer these questions. A joint venture of cooperation with SCENE - Clubbing Heritage x Up To Date Festival x FOMO and thanks to the support of Jägermeister, we united our forces to host a conference with panel discussions that will also be part of the club's last day of existence. As speakers, we are happy to invite Levon Vincent as well as leading figures of the Polish electronic music scene. Artwork: Ralfmann Reality of the club scene on its periphery. Entrance: free of charge PROGRAM: 1st Panel - 18:00-19:30 Challenges in electronic music scenes from around the globe. The political, economic, or social differences between different countries suggest that (also in the context of the electronic music scene) the potential challenges should vary from place to place. Have we really faced differences? Or on the contrary - are our experiences similar? Maybe we have more in common than we think and universal solutions can be found. Participants: Levon Vincent - Novel Sound, New York, US Feelaz - Vinylgate Record Store Poznan, PL Natig Ismayil - Clubbing Heritage, iN, Baku, AZ Cezary Chwicewski - Up To Date Festival, Bialystok, PL 2nd Panel - 19:40-21:10 How to stay relevant as a periphery of the scene? The unequal distribution of resources, income, and potential co-shape the music industry’s center-periphery structure. Why should peripheral initiatives be supported? Is it possible to create conditions in which the periphery could reduce the gap in potential and available resources compared to the main cultural hubs? Which artifacts and solutions might contribute to making sustainable a peripheral scene? Participants: Aleksandra Sudolska - Schron, Poznan, PL Dtekk - Up To Date Festival, FOMO, Bialystok, PL Klaudia Ciepłucha - Granko Agency, Prague / Wrocław, PL Mateusz Skiba - Clubbing Heritage, Chmury / Hydrozagadka, Warsaw, PL - THE FIRST TOURNAMENT OF BUSINESS TECHNO THE GAME For those who do not feel like theorists and would like to see how the center-periphery power relationship works in practice, we are organizing the first-ever official Business Techno The Game tournament. In the 2nd FOMO's room, you will be able to take the dice in your hand and undertake a race to build your own Techno Empire. Who will gain followers? Who will fulfill their dream of a mansion in Ibiza? Who will become the owner of the best club in Berlin? This game is not only a gateway to fame and a means of entertainment but above all a commentary on the reality of the scene at hand. See who among the participants will shine like a diamond, and whose hopes will be verified by reality. + NTBA 12h+ closing party for the Fomo Klub closure
