With unforeseen pandemic hiatus of 2020 and most of 2021 safely in our rear view mirror, the iconic L/IT Ibiza Takeover Sunday‘s returned to Leeds’s D&D Angelica rooftop this summer and was met with a huge welcome with three parties that sold out within hours of ticket release!
Curated by Leeds based DJ / Producer Sara Garvey, aka Comfy Bella, the L/IT Ibiza Takeover summer parties have been a consistent hit with crowds from all over the UK and beyond growing week on week and year on year cementing L/IT as THE party spot in Leeds.
With an impressive cutting-edge list of world renowned DJ’s taking to the decks on the intimate Angelica terrace transporting partygoers to the White Isle against the backdrop of the Leeds city skyline, L/IT head honcho Sara said: “The journey we’ve had to these events has been incredible. I carefully select our DJ guests to ensure our music policy stays true to what has now become the L/IT sound creating a truly Ibizan spirited experience in Leeds. I’m really looking forward to getting back to full swing in summer 2023 with plans to bring you even bigger and bolder summer DJ line ups with as always a few extra surprises.”
Arguably the Leeds’s most iconic Leeds summer party, L/IT Ibiza Takeover are no strangers to throwing a NYE party too and will be returning to takeover D&D’s East 59th rooftop in Leeds on Saturday 31st December. Celebrating the end of 2022 and ushering in 2023 with their exclusive, energetic heady daze of luxurious decadence.
Headlining NYE22 alongside Sara Garvey is Star Slinger, a music producer and DJ from the UK, working between the fringes of electronica, house and hip hop, who gained notoriety after self-releasing a beat tape entitled "Volume 1".
Star Slinger has gone on to collaborate with James Vincent McMorrow, Dawn Richard, Tinashe, Kilo Kish, Juicy J, Project Pat, Tunji Ige, Lil B, Sam Sparro & Teki Latex amongst others. He has officially remixed for Jessie Ware, London Grammar, Duke Dumont, Childish Gambino, Ellie Goulding, Gold Panda, Bipolar Sunshine, Hundred Waters (for Skrillex's OWSLA label), Little Dragon, Comfy Bella and many more.
Garvey said ‘We are thrilled to have Star Slinger back to L/IT to perform a very rare, exclusive DJ set with awesome memories from summer 2018 when he played alongside Little Dragon (Glastonbury, Bestival, Dimensions and Lollapalooza headliners!)’
Next up is L/IT founder and head honcho Sara Garvey aka Comfy Bella. Garvey is the crop of an organic musical adventure which began in vocals and song writing and has since evolved to DJing, producing and creating parties. Garvey’s trajectory keeps on rising, coming off the back of festival season playing killer sets at Lost Village / We Out Here / Beatherder and more.. currently working on a long awaited upcoming solo album, with a nose for the hottest DJ’s on the circuit yet still finding time to cultivate up coming talent, expect fresh and pumping music to set your NYE on fire.
