It's 2021 and Breathe comes to us as an accurate preamble to Telepopmusik's debut album. A year later, “Genetic World” is already one of the best-selling albums in the United Kingdom and in the United States, and, in 2004, Breathe receives a Grammy Award's nomination for Best Dance Recording, after being immortalized in an advertisement for Mitsubishi.
Since then, the constant journey through melancholy and perseverance, the elegant sound and the intelligent production have marked all of Telepopmusik's work, guaranteeing the trio - now a duo - a prominent position in the demanding world of French dance music, previously achieved only by names like Air, Daft Punk, Étienne de Crécy or Dimitri from Paris.
It is with the sunny “Everybody Breaks The Line”, an album released in 2020 after a 15-year recording hiatus, that they return to Porto, for a dancing but contemplative DJ set – like a reunion of old friends.
From a French institution to a Portuguese one: Rui Trintaeum, promoter and musical agitator par excellence, owner, programmer and resident DJ of the mythical club Trintaeum, joins us and will be responsible for bringing his more refined songs to Pérola Negra. Music with soul in a place with history.
