Velocity Press released their debut book about British dance culture (by Matt Annis) in 2019. The book took its audience through the sub-bass revolution in the UK, tracing the origins, development, impact and influence of bleep techno, and the subsequent musical styles it inspired. The audience loved it and stock quickly ran low.
Three years since, the new version of the book has been released, exclusive to the Velocity Press shop - errors have been corrected, and some chapters have been expanded. There’s also an additional ‘Afterword’ chapter that reflects on the author’s journey as a researcher of the changes in the UK scene.
We are happy to announce that the (re-)launch will take place at Artum on Saturday, the 4th of February [3-8PM]. From 4 to 5 PM, Matt, Neil, and Mark will be talking about bleep and the ‘Join the Future’ book. Following that, Matt Annis and Mark Archer will pick up and play some music they love.
