Mind The Gap

  • After rocking the Arches big time with the special freshers' week extravaganza, Mind The Gap moves into the more intimate surroundings of the Sub Club but with a similarly exciting line-up. Having previously hosted joint parties with Freq (Lopazz & Swayzak) and Kinky Afro (Ellen Allien & Apparat), what better way to celebrate the first solo Subbie outing than with a mouth-watering DJ set from Marc Romboy and an exclusive live performance from Elektrochemie? Marc Romboy knows what's up. Having been in the music biz for over a decade, co-founding and building up internationally respected dance-music labels and projects, he never tires of coming up with fresh and innovative ideas in order to push the limits of electronic sounds. Born in Berlin in 2004, his Systematic label hosts his own output as well as serving as a platform for hot upcoming talent. So far for the label he has collaborated with such high profiled artists as Booka Shade or Blake Baxter and signed tracks and mixes from producers like Martin Landsky, John Dahlbaeck, Olaf Poszgay, Phonique, Jence or Abysm. His DJ set is sure to feature his passion of electronic house music with a certain break-dance appeal, reminiscent of old school Chicago dance floor insanity. Marc Romboy will be joined by pals and Get Physical stars Elektrochemie with their debut Scottish show. Highly acclaimed techno producer Thomas Schumacher originally set up Elektrochemie in 1995. He teamed up with fellow producer Stephan Bodzin and in 2001 was joined by Caitlin Devlin on vocals. Combining house, electro grooves and atmospheric beats, the instant easy chemistry of the three infuses their work as shown with singles Don't Go and Pleasure Seeker. Mind The Gap DJ Brian D'Souza will also be playing to round off a stunning line-up.
