  • Road to Moondance w/Madalba (ITA), Marieu (ITA), Mozer (CRO), Beko (CRO) Moondance Festival & Road project are inviting you to the first Road To Moondance event on the occasion of the 10th, jubilee edition of the Moondance Festival, which will be held in Trogir's Kamerlengo Tower from 27-31 July 2023. For that occasion we invited our friends, Tresor and Moondance residents Madalba and Marieu, to come to Zagreb to join us on our first promotional event in club Depo. Local support will be Beko and Mozer. //Madalba MadAlba was born in July 1985 in Bari, south of Italy. From a very young age, her musical interests moved across a broad spectrum, going from house and dance music to rock and punk leading her lastly to techno and club-culture. At age 22 she approached the local scene as Djane with numerous performances in the club circuit of Bari. Through the years she has developed a continued and careful respect of the musical experience. She moved to Berlin in 2011 started djing with only vinyl records. This helped her to build a strong reputation as an underground techno DJ, providing opportunity for her to play in clubs such as Tresor, About Blank, SchwuZ, SO36 and Mikz in Berlin where she lives today. In September 2011, she spent one month in Detroit where she started the collaboration with DJ Seoul, Tom and Angie Linder of Detroit Techno Militia. This travel has definitely and radically changed her approach to the techno concept, which she considers more a political and social phenomenon and a lifestyle than just a musical genre. Back to Berlin she immediately came into contact with the queer scene, then in full bloom, builded a network primarily of interpersonal relationships based on mutual support and collaboration, a network that naturally strengthens over the years, leading her to basically all queer realities of the city and beyond. At the same time she cultivated her main profession as a trauma surgeon in a historically male-dominated environment which strengthens her awareness of her role as a woman in a still strongly male-dominated society. Thanks to these solid experiences she became resident of the party Homopatik, at the time the flagship of the Berlin queer reality. Her first releases on vinyl came out in 2014 on DTM-Label (Detroit) and Arkita Records (Berlin), the label that she spawned together with Synkopheit till 2016. In 2017 she launched her own record label Future Déjà Vu releasing 6 EP respectively by Transient X4, Ken Karter, Mannella a.k.a. DHARAXT, Phontonz & Shcuro, Rage Therapy and Bertrand. In September 2017 she played her first house set for the summer closing of the Berlin based party Buttons. In Summer 2018 MadAlba became resident dj at the historical club Tresor in Berlin. The same year she collaborated with the London based crew Aria with a party series in the UK capital. Currently, she is techno resident dj and co-organizer of the party Buttons in About Blank teaming with Danilo Rosato, Jabob Meehan, Shingo Suwa, Akirahawks and Paolo Di Nola. Since 2019 she is part of the roster of Pullproxy. Over the years, her awareness of the communicative power of her role as a DJ not an end in itself but always aimed at creating a network based on the basic values of absolute respect for all forms of diversity, has been strengthened to the point carrier of all her artistic and interpersonal expressions. //Marieu (Restoration Records, Enlightened Wax, Hypercolour/Berlin) Underground DJ and producer, vinyl lover and activist, vintage-synth junkie, Analogue Cop. Marieu was born in Padua, Italy, during the emerging years of House Music. In the mid 90s his first club experiences with house and disco set in, and eventually he found his way into more refined or complex electronic styles. Dissatisfied with the Italian club scene at the time, he moved to Barcelona in 2004, where he began DJing, under the influence of some of the biggest Techno DJs visiting the clubs there. In that sunny city he also met fellow countryman Lucretio, sharing a passion for true house and techno, and Detroit's melodic influence. After a couple of years of spinning and clubbing together, they decided to move to Berlin, where together they founded a strictly underground vinyl label named, 'Restoration Records'. Marieus first solo appearance on the label came out in summer of 2008; 'Hammer', on the 'Resistance On My Mind Ep'. In that track, Marieu showed the development of his own sound: warm and funky, solid and relentless. The track was lauded by a wealth of 'True Techno' DJs around the globe. In the spring of 2009, Marieu and Lucretio began a collaboration with Steffi (OstGut / Dolly / Klakson), naming their project 'Third Side'. Their first full EP, 'Nyx' (RST010) was highly acclaimed and quickly sold out, naturally on vinyl only. Third Side now offer up their first album, 'Unified Fields'; a heavy debut of purist house, techno and electro made only with outboard, hardware equipment. Since September 2009 he has released more raw and pumping hardware-only tracks on the 'Live Jam Records' label, as 'ACE' (together with EMG and Lucretio) and as 'Appointment' (with EMG, John Swing and Lucretio). In summer of 2010, Marieu founded the 'Appointment' imprint together with Lucretio and his friends from 'Relative Records'. As Appointment they made 2 official remixes of Moodymann´s track 'I Can´t Kick This Feeling When It Hits', which saw a release on the 'Decks Reworx' label. In 2011 Marieu started his solo label Enlightened Wax, with focus on his own material. Always pro-active, together with Blawan and Lucretio, Marieu started a new project called 'Parassela', focussing on raw punchy underground techno. The first release as Parassela is already a collectors item. Marieu's latest project is called "Colour of Observation" and it is the fruit of his friendship with Cristopher Rau. Together they released in the summer of 2015 the highly acclaimed and quickly sold-out "Sidewalk Romeos" EP on the Italian Out-er Recordings. His relentless mixes (absolutely vinyl-only) range from the funkiest Chicago tracks to the heaviest Brooklyn techno, but always affected by a strong Detroit/Berlin leaning. Marieu is a connoisseur of anima and manga, being deeply fascinated by the Japanese culture. He draws all the artwork for the Restoration label and is also in charge of creating the videos for the label. Together with Lucretio he works at a record distributor in Berlin, nurturing the deep cultural values that vinyl brings with it. //Mozer (Tanzen Kollektiv, LOST/FOUND, Linear) Mozer is a Croatian DJ and promoter based in Zagreb. Mozer plays a fusion of electronic music characterized by multi layered, depth, high dynamics and perfect a sense of mix. In his sets, he likes to emphasize the atmosphere, emotions and occasionally throw out listeners from the comfort zone, all to create a set that has its own unique story and value. He also run the event series “tanzen” and “LOST/FOUND” in Zagreb. “When I realize during the performance that I choose heavy mixes, I know I'm on the right track. Only in those moments when the DJ comes out of his comfort zone can those magical moments occur which people remember long after the party and which inspire us all. ” Mozer's DJ career began back in 2000. He developed his style under the musical influences of industrial techno, British hard groove, electro and experimental electronic music. For the music base he always takes techno in combination with house, electro, breakbeat, minimal... “Electronic music has never been more exciting and high quality. Constant progress in music production leads to the merging of various musical genres and it is very difficult, and unnecessary, to categorize artists like before. What matters is the artist's ambition to present himself through his unique musical signature. “ //Beko (Road!, Moondance) Vinyl Sound best! This is exactly the sentence that defines this young enthusiast and lover of electronic music. Records were and remain his first love. He encountered electronic music for the first time in his high school days, where he went to his first parties and immediately realized that he wanted to be on the other side of the counter. After years of hardening and grinding, the time has come. 4 years ago, he received his first pair of turntables as a gift, and has been actively playing since then. Genre-unlimited and uncompromising. His music is described as dark, raw and energetic. Design - ATS39 / Vazdaisti / Blue Art Studio
