Since the '80s, Manchester, UK native, A Guy Called Gerald, born Gerald Simpson, has proven to be among the most innovative modern music figures. His influence is international, and through his versatility he has spawned genres and generations of music culture. From his early experimentation with techno and acid house to his groundbreaking contributions to drum & bass music, AGCG’s art and craft has perpetually evolved regardless of his individual successes in each of those genres.
In the late 80s, he released a theme song called ‘Voodoo Ray’ from ‘Summer of Love’, and it became a classic of British house music. He launched his own label ‘Juice Box’ in the early 90s and was praised for his ‘Black Secret Technology’ in 1995. His music continued to evolve and not stand still, signing with !K7 Records in 2000 and releasing “Essence”, followed by a 2005 release on the Protechson label.
He continues to tour bringing his studio into the clubs worldwide playing anywhere from 2 to now legendary 14 hour LIVE sets – no DJ software, no gimmicks, just raw, pure, undiluted AGCG riddums strictly for the dancefloor.

영국 출신의 A Guy Called Gerald는 시카고 하우스/디트로이트 테크노의 댄스 음악의 폭발적인 시기인 80년대 후반에 보석같이 등장했습니다. 그는 영국 최초의 애시드 하우스 프로듀서이자, 영국 차트에서 동시에 두 개의 instrumental 댄스 트랙을 보유한 최초의 프로듀서 입니다. 그의 808 State 결성은 후대 Frankie Knuckles, Derrick May에서 Herbie Hancock 까지 영향을 미쳤으며, David Bowie, Stone Roses, Roman Fluegel, The Orb등과 함께 리믹스 하였습니다.
