Each presents a deeply steeped, richly textured vision of the avant garde as a place of radiant possibility and cultivated psychedelia. Standing on the Corner and McCraven are well known to anyone following the cutting edge of jazz. Each, in their own way, blends hip hop, incredible ensemble playing and deep emotional expression into something indelibly modern. Laraaji has been an unwavering practitioner of celestial sounds, operating in his own lane for decades, while Liv.e tweaks '90s R&B for the Web 2.0 era.
