There are some visiting dignitaries in town and DFA Records is doing what any good host should do, throw them one hell of a party. Label founder James Murphy has invited special guest Tom Of England to Good Room on April 27 where the pair will play back to back, all night long.
Tom of England cut his teeth with Tonka Sound System, alongside fellow auteur DJ Harvey back in the 90s. Since then he started and left A.R.E. WEAPONS, introduced sound-system culture to San Francisco with The Wicked Crew, threw some of the most legendary NYC parties under the name Rub N Tug, and released a bunch of amazing music under a shit load of aliases.
It’s been a minute since Tom of England has played at Good Room and a good few hours since he and James Murphy have played back to back. We have no doubt they’ll create all sorts of party madness in the club when they pair up. While all this is going down in the main room we’ve got locals Amourette + Maroje T, Abby Echiverri, Clay Wilson and Oliver Chapoy taking over the Bad Room for the night.
