After opening for Charli XCX on the CRASH Australian Tour, Prophecy Girl is set to return to Meanjin on 20 May as they take over the nation with their own headliner shows.
Prophecy Girl is known for their iconic, queer-empowering, high-intensity DJ sets. Based in Naarm (Melbourne, AUS), they’ve opened for many other top musical talents including Machine Girl, daine, Donatachi, Lil Mariko, and Slayyyter. They mix a range of hardstyle, 2000s electronica, nightcore, and hyperpop to provide fast-paced mixes steeped with iconic emo nightcore and bootleg edits.
Much like Prophecy Girl, local favourite, heavy gore creates a unique world where hyperpop and hard dance come together. She's played countless hyperpop themed nights, opened for Machine Girl, and is constantly being flown around the country to deliver her chaotic, hypnotic and hard-hitting sets.
Serving live vocals, Stocker puts pop in a blender. Her unique approach to her own brand of ‘chrome-pop’, inspired by the likes of Tatu, Rina Sawayama and Charli XCX, is rapidly gaining the attention of Australia’s left-field pop community.
