Mister Sunday: Justin Carter & Eamon Harkin

  • Here we go. It’s the outdoor Mister Sunday season, our thirteenth year of doing this thing, week in, week out, all summer (and late spring and early autumn) long. Since our beginnings on the banks of the Gowanus, we've tuned into a regular, weekly rhythm that now stretches into twenty-five consecutive Sundays. We've come to realize that, like the Purple One once said, there is joy in repetition. Twenty-five Sundays turns recurring faces in the crowd into friends, or turns a song that makes one great moment on the dance floor into an anthem that defines a time in your life. There is joy in repetition. Supplying the musical moments most weeks will be Eamon Harkin and Justin Carter, and we'll have a handful of all day takeovers from Theo Parrish, CCL and Lauren Flax, Soul Summit and Octo Octa. Justin and Eamon will also play alongside a couple guests this summer: the brilliant Detroit Techno/Jazz wizard, Jon Dixon, who'll perform live; longtime Panorama Bar resident Massimiliano Pagliara; and the boundless, huge energy-bringing London DJ, OK Williams. Of course we'll have all the other trappings that make every return so nice: that big, custom outdoor sound system. The food truck from the folks that do Dr. Clark and The Izakaya. The even more jungle-like-than-ever Nowadays garden. Hammocks. A limited edition run of merch by Noah Baker (more on that soon). The post-sunset dance floor installation by Inner Light. Drinks, sun, shade, and so on. Tickets are here, but if you think you’re gonna come frequently, check the Nowadays Patreon for discounts or free entry. You can also RSVP on the Nowadays website for reduced entrance. Whether we see you sooner or later, we're looking forward to spending some time with you – hopefully on the regular. - - - - - Please note that each purchase is limited to four tickets maximum per person. If tickets are sold out here, don’t worry, we always hold a good amount at the door. Our entire dance floor is a no-phone, no-photo space. We also ask that you keep conversations off the dance floor. Let the dance floor be for dancing. Violence, non-consensual touching, racist, homophobic, transphobic, sexist, ageist or other discriminatory language, and leering are not allowed within our walls or in our back yard. If someone says or does anything to make you feel uncomfortable while you’re here, let us know.
