The LilliStar rooftop is an indoor-outdoor lounge and cocktail bar atop the new Moxy Williamsburg and offers stunning, unobstructed views of the Williamsburg Bridge, East River and Lower Manhattan. Playful seasonal cocktails from the award-winning Bar Lab Hospitality team are served alongside a selection of small plates. Access to the rooftop is located on Bedford Avenue, beside the main Moxy hotel entrance. // ABOUT THE WEEKENDER // This weekend of incredible functions is brimming over with exceptional talent that will take you from day, through sunset, and deep into the night - as we celebrate the imminent release of a new femme + nonbinary-focused compilation, titled ‘I.Y.K.Y.K.’ — curated by VARSHA & 4AM NYC, via the esteemed record label, Air Texture. While each producer on the comp is known for a particular style of dance music, they have all come together under one 'roof' with this particular project to create a signature track in the spirit of House and its ethos: to move people, together — regardless of where they, or the music originated from. Taking that same M.O. as a fitting foundation, VARSHA and 4AM NYC have curated this special Pride Weekender with artists from the comp and friends of the project - creating a new musical world for you to explore that showcases the past, present and future of house music. With free functions taking place on the gorgeous LilliStar rooftop every day, and parties going on in the incredible Jolene Sound Room every night, there will be so many moments of celebration and pure artistic joy to be had - whether in the warmth of the setting sun, or under the soft glow of moonlight. // ABOUT YOUR DJS // /// GAVILÁN RAYNA RUSSOM (she/her) Gavilán Rayna Russom’s visionary career in music reverberates expansively at the multiple intersections between experimental and dance floor sounds. Rayna’s creative arc began when she was still in high school - DJing dance parties and distributing home-produced drone and noise tapes - and has carried her through a long-standing relationship with New York’s DFA Records, critically acclaimed releases for LIES, Nation, Curle, LuxRec and Ecstatic Recordings as well as the founding of her own label Voluminous Arts. /// MEGATRONIC (she/her) DJ/producer and songwriter Megatronic has been immersed within the music scene for over 20 years, fortifying her unmatched talent and know-how around the industry. From songwriting and playing guitar at the age of 17, by the time Megatronic was in her mid-20s she had formed the group Black Cherry, a British/French electro pop band, and went on to tour the world playing for stages at Glastonbury Festival, SXSW, Balaton Sounds Festival and V Festival. After taking on DJing more seriously in 2013, she eventually moved to Middle East in 2016 where she became an integral organizer and activist within the male-dominated alternative club scene in the region. Her DJ sets pull from her lived experiences across the world as she balances colorful global sounds within various electronic, Latin, African and Arabic rhythmic traditions. /// VARSHA (she/her) VARSHA is a DJ, freestyle dancer, and model from the San Francisco Bay Area, and is bicoastal between New York and the west coast. Much of her music taste and DJ practice is deeply inspired by the communities of artists and dancers from the queer and freestyle dance cultures that she is a part of, primarily the freestyle house dance & ballroom scenes. Through her playful, deep, and cunty blends she strives to channel the vibrant energy of these scenes, encouraging party-goers to feel boundless in their bodies and movement, and find release on the dance floor. What these communities share informs the root of all of her work and artistic practices — a deep love for dance music and bringing people together. A PORTION OF ALL TICKET SALES FROM ACROSS THE 3 DAY WEEKENDER WILL GO TO: THE COALITION 4 BLACK LIBERATION @cbtel2020 THE TRANSGENDER LAW CENTER @translawcenter VOLUMINOUS ARTS @voluminousarts Flyer by @girlfriendgf
