  • Brooklyn-based DIY dance label Sorry Records joins forces with AceMo’s Sonic Messengers for night of homespun jungle, deep midwest jack, American techno, garage house, and everything in between. One of our absolute favorite young producers in the American underground — Birmingham, Alabama-based producer/dj SWAP MEET! is coming to town for a special first time ever b2b with Sonic Messengers head and all-around NYC legend AceMo. You’ve got to hear SWAP MEET! stuff if you haven’t already; a diverse array of superbly funky, sublimely bangin releases that sound like someone threw Midwest rave tradition and the UK hardcore continuum into a Deep South blender! His releases skillfully weave through refined jungle bombs, bumping Sound Factory-esque big room house power, smokey techno, dark dnb, dopamine missile UKG, and everything in between, majority recorded straight to 1/4" reel to reel tape. “NYC-based Techno savant” AceMo is a “key figure, among an essential body that is currently reshaping the dynamics of electronic music today.” One half of AceMoMa, founder of Sonic Messengers, Public Records resident, and frequent collaborator with his Haus of Altr family like Moma Ready, DJ SWISHA, and Kush Jones, AceMo has spent the last decade as undeniably one of the very best producers AND deejays in New York (…and the US, and the world!) We’ve seen him burn down raves with acid house and techno power, bring deep house oddysey to the floor at early morning afters, and rearrange brains with improvised live sets in the middle of the night at Nowadays Nonstop. We can’t wait to hear him play b2b with SWAP MEET! — who coincidentally was the second release ever on Sonic Messengers, following a collaborative EP by AceMo and Toro y Moi’s Les Sins moniker. Chicago-born, New York-based producer and deejay 30,000AD (fka Paxine) is joining us as well for her solo Nowadays debut; bringing her distinct presentation of “TDM [Transgender Dance Music]” to the floor. You may know 30,000AD via her monthly show Spice Jams on ParticipleFM, appearances at NYC’s LSD parties, or through her wild live freeform project Spiral Generator alongside Pamela_ and her sons; who recently performed for Real Love Blue Rips’ night at Nowadays. Holding things down on opening and closing, we’ve got Sorry Records founders and long time Nowadays dance floor devotees Nick Boyd and Tony G bringing their energetic love of multi-genre dance music madness to this very special party. Recently relocated to Chicago, Tony G is a Rochester-born producer/dj with releases on labels like toucan sounds, Eto Ano, and EAT DIS, as well as collaborated with folks like DJ Manny, Bored Lord, Haruka, DJ Delish, Sonia Calico, Max Watts, DJ GIRL, and MoMa Ready. His close listening/open format freak party Giambrone and Co was one of our favorite club nights in NYC — inviting guests like Kiernan Laveaux, Davis Galvin, T.Wan, WTCHCRFT, Sobolik, and Nishkosheh for all night b2bs with Tony himself. Recently, Tony has joined forces with Chicago based DJ and deep midwest talent sold (aka Glorbis) for a new party called Hodgepodge in his new home city. Tony will be making his Nowadays debut with us and we couldn’t be happier to have him on closing duties. Sorry Records founder Nick Boyd will be opening things up early (8pm!) with a special set in the Loft tradition — a gateway to entry pulled from the most meaningful corners of the label head/deejay’s record collection, presented as is and in full (no mixing!) with love and care. Nick’s work — running Sorry Records, holding residencies on The Lot Radio and 8 Ball Radio, writing about music for publications like Love Injection and Crack Magazine, and releasing mixes for outlets like Honcho and Spontaneous Affinity — all aims to exhibit a balance of deep reverence and humor, erase any misplaced pretension from the underground, and connect newer generations of dance music freaks to the history of love and community that has come before us all. Please note that each advance purchase is limited to four tickets maximum per person. We limit the amount of tickets we sell in advance and always leave space to admit people at the door. So if it says sold out here, it's just referring to the advance tickets.
