- We're excited to welcome into the Sound Room the shapeshifting multi-hyphenate Matthew Dear for a special DJ set. A founding artist of Ghostly International and its dancier off shoot, Spectral Sound, the Detroit-born, NYC-based artist has been writing, producing, and mixing all of his output for the past 20 years. In that time he birthed three other aliases [Audion, False, and Jabberjaw], all with their own sonic identity, remixed countless tracks for some of our time's biggest names, played the world over, released 5 alums and two dozen EPs, and kept us guessing with every move. We cant wait to see what he brings to the booth. Earlier in the evening, Black Light Smoke, will perform live. The songwriter, composer and producer draws on the raw house sound of his native Chicago, while at the same time expanding to electro, disco, post-punk, and beyond in his productions...this set should be one for the books. Our own Francis Harris will open the night to set the stage. Limited tickets will be sold at the door. Safe Space Policy: Public Records aims to provide a safer space for all.
