Italo Disco is a music genre that originated in Italy towards the end of the 70s and was particularly prominent from the beginning to the end of the 80s. In Italy the music was simply called disco music, but the Germans needed a trademark and Italo Disco became the name. The genre incorporates elements from pop, disco, electro and funk. Typical of the genre is a lot of use of synthesizers, drum machines, catchy melodies and bad vocals. Italo Disco has had a major revival in recent years and is played a lot in Europe's hottest clubs and bars.

Italopal (Dj Paal):
Italopal is best known as the host of the radio show Midnight Magic (formerly Magic Beat) on Radio Nova in Oslo. His DJ career stretches back 20 years through club concepts such as Plan 9, Altern80s Club, Elektrostat, Pogo Loco Club and Vaguely Obscure. A real Italohode with a burning interest in Italo disco and the subgenre Spacesynth (Laserdance, Koto etc.), and not least a driving force and joy spreader in the Scandinavian Italo Disco community.
