- This event series aims to honor and celebrate the enormously popular and influential television program Soul Train. The show first started in Chicago before it became a hit and soon after it started, it was relocated to the west coast. There it was filmed and aired from 1971 to 2006 before finally coming to an end. When we were graciously offered the opportunity to host a monthly event at the infamous Temple Bar, with its iconic, retro style in the back of our heads, the idea of reviving Soul Train came naturally. And where better to revive Soul Train than Detroit?! So go get those bellbottoms and dust off those platforms cause Soul Train Detroit continues this Friday and every second Friday of the month with Deeper Waters at Temple Bar Detroit! The 2nd event of the series will feature our good friend and Detroit underground icon, Joe Hix. Music starts at 10p and goes til 2a. Cover is $5 all night. 21+
