COVEN Transamerican

  • House music is a cross-American genre. Its origins within queer, marginalised spaces are no news for Coven: with Transamerican they delve deeper into the work of amplifying those voices. This edition is their own statement in terms of inclusion in the electronic music industry: more presence of queer working-class artists and the Global South is needed. It is a celebration of those artists. This gathering at Kantine am Berghain shall evoke a gravitational center of dance floor magic. A lineup of South American artists will conjure their beats in a Transamerican force from the Pacific to the Atlantic. We are honoured to have a double Brazilian commission: DJ and vinyl collector Jota Januzzi, and the transdisciplinary DJ and musician Idilibra. Both will stop by at this edition of Coven during their European tour. Chilean singer and performer Rhama will delight us with a live act full of elegance and queer house beats. Expect the usual powerful Latin debauchery that Coven residents Moretz, GIO & Feasting are already experts at. Relentless work is the common factor in this lineup, a unique combination of queer South American talent that from Boiler Room sessions to the Berliner underground, is something to not miss. Important: purchasing a ticket does not guarantee admission. Due the nature of this event, all guests will be screened at the door before entering the venue.
