Ahead of its September launch: a curtain raiser on Wednesday, August 9, will host a live concert from DeepChord - supported by Absurd Lustre x Format Wars residents Sa Pa and Blume.

Back by popular demand, DeepChord returns to arkaoda Berlin where the ambient side of the project will help introduce a new 2023 season of events curated by Absurd Lustre x Format Wars.
Rare is it to witness the Detroit artist's sound outside of the festival or super-club experience, Absurd Lustre x Format Wars prepare for a second intimate and extended live performance, giving encore to a most venerated name of timeless ambient and dub techno music.
Set for the conceived interior of a limited 150-person capacity space - Absurd Lustre x Format Wars proudly present DeepChord as a prelude to new and yet to be announced program of monthly events in arkaoda Berlin.

contemporary Italian vegan cuisine to be enjoyed upstairs before the concert begins.
( parentesi ) believe in food as unity, a form of cultural connection and discovery in a non-ordinary reality. A suspended moment where gastronomy, music, art and conscious consumption create a stimulating dialogue.
// Absurd Lustre: A Concept
Blending a cocktail effect of dub music, spoken word, percussion and ambient styles, Absurd Lustre is the search for a trans-dimensional exotica where deeper listening, sound poetry and genre experimentation take place.
Where ephemeral landscapes, conceived interiors and clubbing modernity meet environmental sound art, non-music and the sonic phenomena of field recordings; freeform rhythms help transport the listener into a nebulous realm of spatio-temporal immersion.
Experimental club music, ambient rave or hardcore chill out, Absurd Lustre is a place to sink, swim and hide in the atmospheric delights of a world unknown.
// Format Wars: A Record Store
Format Wars Records is a Berlin-based online record shop specialising mainly in electronic music - from lush jungle, life-affirming techno and gritty ambient to mellow & experimental breaks, dubbed out jazz and avant-garde schools of the abstract.
The shop was founded in 2019 by Florencia Viadana aka Blume and has grown into a team of like-minded people.
If you want to meet us or browse our collection in person, we will be hosting four pop-up events this year at arkaoda Berlin as part of Absurd Lustre x Format Wars.
