Circle of Live is a fully improvised live music performance conceived and curated by Swedish producer and composer Sebastian Mullaert. Over the course of several hours, Mullaert will interact with the audience and a group of fellow live artists from the world of electronic music to create highly unique moments and improvised sound worlds using synthesizers, drum-computers and many other instruments.
For the first time ever, the unique constellation of Sebastian Mullaert, Erika, Barker and Wayne Snow –each highly influential in their own particular genre – will perform together amid the unique ambiance of Berlin’s Botanic Gardens. Over the course of seven hours, visitors are invited to escape the grind of daily life and join the musicians on a journey through meditative and rhythmic soundscapes.
Sebastian Mullaert is a Swedish producer and composer who has been active in the field of electronic music for more than 20 years. He gained fame early on as one half of the duo “Minilogue”, and his inimitable hypnotic-meditative sounds have influenced the scene ever since. He created Circle of Live in 2018.
Erika is a DJ and producer, now living in Berlin, but originally from Detroit, the birthplace of techno. Erika has more than earned her excellent reputation in the field, in particular due to her radio show, her work with the Interdimensional Transmissions label and event series, her artistic output as half of the duo Ectomorph and her numerous solo releases.
Wayne Snow, born in Nigeria, now living in Berlin, is a future soul artist, singer, songwriter and performer who has already collaborated with a number of well-respected artists, including Max Graef, FKJ, Folamour and Darius.
Barker is a Britain-born, Berlin-based producer and DJ. Over and above his Berghain residency and his co-founding of the label Leisure System, Barker is a classically trained musician and both a designer and builder of instruments.
