LIGHT ON is a fundraising day-rave and a homage to artistic creativity with hybrid sets from Savaggio and Selin Asar - both talented musicians, producers and DJs, supported by Light Service regular/ resident DJs. Expect 10 glorious hours of gorgeous deep, progressive House and Melodic Techno within the church and its wild garden (complete with repeater speakers). Intersonic Sound Productions are also kindly bringing their FUNKTION ONES to support this pressingly important cause - the East African Food Crisis.
Savaggio plays live violin to his beautifully original Melodic Techno tracks and Selin integrates her ethereal voice seamlessly into her stunning sets. Selin may make use of the huge church organ, let's see how she blows our mind!
Complementing the fully-licensed bar, there will be a range of energising healthy drinks and snacks. There will be a festival feel, created by the very talented Twisted charm facepainting and stalls from local designer and clothing businesses: Rai kimonos and The Custard Shop, they will also sell shirts on behalf of Wild Rose Kenya who will send a percentage of sales towards the cause. A liquid light show has also been kindly donated from Sphinx Arts, Amsterdam, complementing lights from Intersonic to create a magical environment.
The East African Food Crisis is the worst the region has seen in decades, leaving 140 million without food. The worst drought for 40 years, rising prices, conflict and climate change have left many teetering on the brink of starvation, especially in former British colonies: Somalia, Sudan and Kenya.
The Old Church is the only remaining Elizabethan church in London and one of the oldest in the country to have been built as an Anglican church. It owes its origins to Stoke Newington’s sixteenth century Lord of the Manor, William Patten. In 1563 he decided to rebuild the old parish church, which had become almost derelict. You can see the date, and the motto ‘ab alto’ (‘from above’), above the main door.

This wandering minstrel has DJ'd and performed in Berlin, British Columbia and around the world, recently returning to UK after nearly ten years abroad. Among those places were Kater Blau (Berlin), Ritter Butzke (Berlin),
Chateau Perché (France), The Great Wall of China, House of Yes (NYC), Meadows in the Mountains (Bulgaria). He generally writes his own music, which has been released by labels Magician On Duty, Suprematic, ThreeRecords, Submarine
Vibes, Suckmusic and Natura Viva.
SELIN ASAR
Selin was a key player at 'LIGHT ON’ @Studio9294 in aid of the Turkey Earthquake. She is a founder of 'Trance 'n Dance' and is very busy as an up-and-coming DJ, recent highlights include playing at Club 338 for Parable and she will return to play for Parable @E1 for Isolate later in September. Her sublimely beautiful voice is coupled with delicate sensitivity to her audience, meaning her time on the decks transports us to higher realms. Selin is also a classically-trained musician and singer and plans to integrate the church organ into her ground-breaking set.
EBZ
Ebz is an exceptionally talented DJ, artist and digital creator, who runs the Usual – stunning musical events, as well being the creator of Smack Tacos - an art exhibition in Brighton. Expect to be energised, surprised and excited by his powerful set.
PJ ADDINALL
PJ Addinall is one to watch - first and foremost, he is a creator of impeccable soundscapes and gorgeous tracks; his latest album, ‘amalgamation’ has been a huge success with his music being played all over the festival landscape this summer. His releases on Suprematic are examples of intelligent House and Techno and he brings sincerity and sensitivity to his role as a DJ.
COSMIC SOULTRIBE
Our resident DJs, this party wouldn't have started without a sunny Sunday some time ago when the duo gelled at FUMP festival. They play great Melodic Techno, Progressive and deep House, most recently playing at The Secret Island Festival. Jimmy is also a professional whistler and has been collaborating with Be Svensen on his latest album; we are holding out for a live performance at Light On.
MISS VEGAS
Also a resident DJ and key supporter of the LIGHT Service, Miss Vegas brings joyful energy to the decks in her carefully curated sets. She is a dancer and ensures that her music makes you move. She has played at the Fox Den, Sunday Service and many other parties. Do not miss her!
BUSHY SQUIRREL
Bushy has been a DJ since the late '90s /early 2000, but took a long break to concentrate on her caring profession. Recently, she's played at Party Utility, Heartwood festival and many other parties and festivals, including where we discovered her at our favourite boutique festival - Fump.....For Underground Music People!
